  1. Lawyer got a copy of the 48 month extension letter today (white paper) - nothing for me on my USPS account that I check every morning!!! Anyways it's coming... If someone knows, when you travel internationally do you need the 2 pages or only the first that has the phrasing on the extension?
  2. From the uscis website: Filing Forms I-765 and Form I-131 with Form I-485 If you submit Form I-485 and pay the required fee, you do not have to pay an additional fee to also file Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, and/or Form I-131, Application for Travel Document, for advance parole. You may submit these forms together. If you choose not to file Form I-765 and/or Form I-131 with your Form I-485, then you must submit a copy of your I-797C, Notice of Action, (also known as your receipt) as evidence that you filed Form I-485.
  3. I had to file the I-90 4 months before I was eligible for the I-751, just make your packet and include the receipt for the I-90 and you should be good to go!
  4. Ah that's unfortunate. But the 20 months is more of a maximum of sorts so there's good chance it's gonna be sooner. Hoping for the best for you case.
  5. She should be in status until December due to her I-20, the F1 visa is for entry purposes only. I wouldn't worry about it too much, just send everything you need to USCIS.
  6. You could try filing online instead of mail, good luck on your process!
  7. You can file for i-751, it's gonna take longer than 20 months most likely and it will be denied because your wife is not a conditional permanent resident. The i-90 is the form she needs to file, the current green card will be in her possession until later in the process when they ask to return it. There's a good chance it will be done before the expiration date of December 2024 and if it's not she can now get ADIT stamps via mail. I understand she is worried about ice and all but she's a permanent resident, correct green card on hand or not - it's good for her to get this through her head now, she has rights and can't be stripped from her status easily.
  8. I assume you meant "not possible to file until he becomes a citizen". How did you enter the US? With what visa, when did it happen, etc? What is your current visa status in the US? Are you able to maintain status until your case is done (1 year or so)?
  9. It should but do not count on it. And USPS will not forward your USCIS mail, it will be returned if not delivered and that's one more thing to go wrong in the process. Good luck on getting your stamp!
  10. "That's a shame" is an idiom - nothing to be shamed about but it is an unfortunate thing because besides marriage to an USC or the investor visa your friend does not have a path to immigration to the US.
  11. Same name structure, no middle name, two last names and it's been working fine. It seems like you can just keep it as is and have no issues. For day to day stuff I have used just the second last name and omit the first, unless it's an official thing - bank account, mortgage, new job - going by just one name is fine. I have to spell it anyways so it's not a big issue one way or the other. Remember to put that as other used names/aliases on the uscis forms.
  12. Just read your timeline on your signature and man oh man didn't you just choose the right-est of times to do your processes huh? Everything took 3 months or less 😮 I think if you had tried for citizenship back in 2016 it wouldn't have been this faster either so really good timing on everything! I would like to say congrats and (playfully) now get out of here!!!! 🤣
  13. Both, their actions were the same (tourist visa + overstayed + adjust status) and in any case the daughter petition is based on the marriage of the mom, so it's not like one is different than the other. 10k does seems high for the case, unless maybe that already included the form fees? But yeah, lawyer up
  14. Lots of people have been complaining about long times between approval, card production and card delivery lately! Hopefully your card gets sent soon but there's isn't much you can do now
  15. Years being a resident, so from your expiration date that would be 09/14/2020 and he's eligible 90 days from 09/14/2023.
  16. I have a 36 months one from the application, nice to see even recent filers getting 48 months extensions too. Hope it comes for me soon but not too concerned about it.
  17. I'm assuming you have send you package to the correct office which then sent it to your local office in Atlanta since you have the correct updates on your account. This might be of little comfort at this point but when you get your green card approved it could be for a 10 year one due to this long wait, which will exempt you from doing the even longer ROC process. Hold on to hope it will end at some point!
  18. You have received great advice in this thread and haven't answered crucial questions that could help you even further. If you truly want to stay in the US, you have your path explained to you here. If you want to freak out about something that hasn't happened yet and that contradicts everything said by experienced members in the forums you're free to do so. Your attorney is bad. Answering all questions posed here will help you more. File the I-751 with more evidence and go live your life in the US or not, your choice.
  19. This is for people that already are green card holders but for different reasons do not have a plastic green card. No one is getting approved for anything but a temporary green card in place of the plastic card they are already entitled to.
  20. And the headache of getting said appointment, I was one of many that tried for months and no dice.
  21. Processing time for a replacement been card (I-90) is 19 months now, while you wait you can call USCIS and ask for an infopass appointment to stamp your passport with a temporary green card. You should receive 10 year green card and don't need to remove conditions if you entered after your second anniversary.
  22. When is your appointment and do you have usps informed delivery? If you have the chance to receive the 48 months extension soon it might be worthwhile to wait for it because at the stamp appointment there's a big chance they will take your green card and then you will have to keep renewing it every year.
  23. IT'S HERE ALREADY WOOO!!! Very fast remail process, Mar 6 to Mar 9 between ordering and receiving it. No changes on the online case but it showed up on informed delivery packages. Same priority mail envelope as before and no signature required so it was just left in the mailbox.
