Address Change Timing
TedsGirl replied to stag's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
I concur, hence I stated hopefully and will🙂 I totally missed that they’ve already submitted their ROC petition! One thing is very certain when it comes to USCIS is the right hand doesn’t always know what the left hand is doing! We hope information they tell us to submit to them like address change will stick yet it doesn’t always go that way for whatever reason. -
Address Change Timing
TedsGirl replied to stag's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
This is true. I got the notification in the mail at my new address of COA. Yet five months later, USCIS still sent my notification to file I-751 to my previous address. So hopefully once you file your ROC forms it will “stick” that your new current address IS your current address. -
I-751 with 10 year green card

Well according to this article from Jim Hacking, it appears what you are doing is the thing to do! I have just learned something new. https://hackinglawpractice.com/uscis-messed-up-gave-me-10-year-green-card/ -
I-751 with 10 year green card
TedsGirl replied to Mezyan's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Hello @Mezyan I remember your journey in getting your husband here! What a journey it was too. Hm I am unclear of anyone ever applying for ROC with a 10 year GC as it is not applicable since it is not a CGC (Conditional Green Card) like those of us who have a 2 year GC. It may be that you were given incorrect info regarding the error made by USCIS in keeping your husband 's 10 year GC and in fact his GC should have been dealt with and corrected upon receipt of the GC 2 year ago. Perhaps I am wrong. I have not seen this before so I will let others chime in with more expertise on this subject. Happy New Year to you also! -
Change of address
TedsGirl replied to TedsGirl's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
@Crazy Cat thanks always for your insightful reply! I appreciate you! -
Both my husband (USC) and I had already informed USCIS of our address change in March of this year. We both received notification of change of address to our new State, yet they have sent the notification of reminder for me to file my ROC to our last address. Fortunately we have not yet sold that house and are still in between States. Long story that I refuse to bore you with! My question is since I will be filing in the new year, should I not be concerned as my forms will have the current address that we are at even though we still have ties to the old? I will have all the relevant documents and IDs that reflect the move to the new State. Sorry for the long windedness of my query😳 Thanks!

This is sickening. I’m convinced that there is something amiss with that judge wanting to sentence Trump AFTER the election, my fear is they will try and get rid of him before then. This has rattled me. I cannot imagine how his family is right now, especially his wife after her concerns about the crickets with her husband’s initial assassination attempt just this past week. I won’t even go there with what Don Lemon posted with her video playing in the background. Utter evil!!! Lester Holt’s comments virtually stated it would have been better he died due to the comments Trump has been making about the illegal immgrants eating dogs! Evil!!! Prayers for the Trump family and all.

I wanted to make this post as I had tried looking EVERYWHERE online for a definitive answer and never found one. In the hopes this can help someone else in Texas, here is my experience. (I understand that this can differ depending upon which State you reside in so I can only relay my experience in Texas) I applied for a DL after passing my very first road test in Texas in August (2023) and was issued a DL with “limited term” and its expiration was 8 months later in April. Even though I searched and searched online my understanding was that limited term is assigned to those who are temporarily visiting the State. When I reached out to Texas DPS via email right away I was told it was nothing to do with them and it was in fact to do with DHS. When I reached out to DHS I didn’t get a response. Today I went to renew my DL and asked about why I got the limited term on my DL and was told that was what was given to them when they ran my GC a couple of times in the SAVE system. Thankfully today I have an 8 year expiration DL coming in the post for me soon.

Error when scanning my Green Card?
TedsGirl replied to tahm's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Thankful for this thread as I am still unclear as to why I have a limited term Texas DL as a LPR. Appears someone has not done something with my status even though my SSN card was updated in April, August I passed road test and issued a limited term DL. Following… -

Limited term Texas DL
TedsGirl replied to TedsGirl's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Thank you! I’ve attached the email I got below. I thought as much and not sure why I’ve been short changed and then thought oh perhaps it’s because I’m a brand new driver (never owned a dl before in London or Canada) as well as being a 2 year CGC holder. Good afternoon, Thank you for your email. The Department does not generate the expiration date for an individual that is not a U.S. citizen. It is generated based on the lawful presence expiration date returned to the Department by USCIS when lawful presence is confirmed in the license office. You may contact USCIS at 800-375-5283 or click here to inquire as to why the expiration date on your card was returned to the Department as your lawful presence expiration date by USCIS. To ensure that USCIS returns the new lawful presence expiration date to the Department, we recommend that a license or ID card for an individual not a United States citizen be renewed on or after the expiration date. Thank you for contacting us and if you need anything else, please let us know. -
I am unsure where to post this so please move it is in the wrong category. I just received my Texas DL the other day and yet was assigned a limited term one. When DPS got back to me they stated I have that generated from USCIS. Is this normal for a first time driver and LPR? From the research I did limited term is designated for foreign visitors so I’m unsure and expected a year or more DL. I paid $33 for my DL fee. I wasn’t going to waste my time on USCIS just yet since so many of you have helped me tremendously on my visa journey. TIA!

Tony Blinken, “On Taiwan, I reiterated a longstanding US ‘One China’ policy. That policy has not changed. It’s guided by the Taiwan Relations Act, three joint communiques, the six assurances. We do not support Taiwan independence. We remain opposed to any unilateral changes to the status quo by either side. We continue to expect the peaceful resolution to cross-state differences.” https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/06/we-do-not-support-taiwan-independence-tony-blinken/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=we-do-not-support-taiwan-independence-tony-blinken

Initially gave a thanks to your comments and only retracted after re-reading. It’s a sad day. First the black National anthem (whatever that means) I know some black people who consider July 4th to be celebrated rather than this day. I’ve not understood the need to be separated since living here. Truly baffling. (As I look across The Pond, they are going crazy over race too in ways I didn’t see when raised and living there) Soon Reparations Day? If so, EVERYONE will celebrate as every nation, ethnicity and people groups have been slaves and were slave masters. Where to draw the line? I’m digressing….I cannot imagine what people would say in this country if dare be it, white people had a day of celebration for being white. White supremacy!!! The horror!!! Why isn’t this different? Apologies just really tired of the black this and white that talk that is so rampant in lamestream media and elsewhere. The day ethnicity is no longer talked about will be the day this foolishness will end. Can we not just get along and stop talking about our differences and creating a divide that isn’t there? -gets off soapbox- Thanks for letting me rant!
