Yup. It's all at the start of this post back on page 1 when I first posted here worrying about it.

I just thought I'd post that I received my I-797 receipt / extension letter today. So if anyone else received their biometrics first instead of the extension letter, it can happen. It looks like they actually sent it out a day before the biometrics I-797c (which was dated the 10th), which is very strange ( the date on the envelope was the 9th - and I received it today, the 17th). I'm not sure why it took so long, but the main thing is that it got here! I also noticed that the day they sent it out is the same day my check cleared from my bank, so I will use that as an indication for when they will send things out from now on.

Yeah, I'm thinking they may have sent out both roughly at the same time a few days ago when it cleared and maybe I'll get them a few days apart.

Thanks! I'm sure it'll get here. I think I was just panicking unnecessarily. I hadn't even checked to see if the check had cleared yet, so I think I was worrying too soon.

Actually, I just checked my bank and the check I sent was only cleared on January 9th. Can I assume they wouldn't send a extension letter until after the payment was successfully processed?

Also, I am somewhat confused, if I look on the USCIS website, I see the following. Does this not essentially say that I-797 and I-797C are the same thing, except C has information about biometrics also? I just found it interesting that when I got the text confirming they received it, they specifically said I-797C and not just I-797.

Out of curiosity, if I do not receive my extension letter, will this only affect me if I am crossing any borders / leaving the country? I already have a NY State ID that is valid until 2027 and a non restricted SSN, so I should be good to work and day to day things if for some reason I do not receive one. Out of curiosity, what happens if I just wait for a decision to be made on my case and do not chase them up for a new letter? Do they even re-issue extension letters if they are not received if I do chase them up? What exactly would it affect in terms of me still being allowed to be here? Or is it essential that I must have one of these extension letters by law? Thank you for any insight.

I filed just at the start of the 90 day period, so should be good. Well, I just tried to sign up for USPS informed delivery and apparently my address is not currently eligible. So that's not great. Apparently because I am the second floor apartment of this address. I tried just the address minus apartment number and it didn't like that either. I looked it up and it won't work for addresses that aren't unique. So I guess I should just wait. How many weeks should I give to wait for it to arrive?

I don't have any set up for USPS informed delivery. I just wait to see what arrived when it does. I am not planning on leaving the country or applying for work or anything like that any time this year because I am busy finishing university. I guess I'll wait and see. Clearly, they have the correct address, else I would not have received this. To be clear, to renew my Conditional GC, I just filed I-751 This is correct, yes? And I should expect to get a separate extension notice along with this I-797C ?

I got a confirmation text on January 6th that they received my case. But when I checked my case status online, I saw that they actually received the case on January 3rd. I then noticed my case was updated to fingerprints accepted a few days ago, and I just received I-797C this morning. When I had the text confirming that they have received my text, it was specifically worded that "Form I797-C to follow in mail" - which is what I just received. I have not had any other letter.

Hey everyone, I just received my I-797C in the post this morning and it told me that I don't need to go for a biometrics appointment because they will use my stuff from AOS. The only thing is, I don't see anything in this document that mentions anything about acting as an extension for my conditional GC when it expires? Will I be getting some other NOA letter that will act as an extension letter? Or does the I-797C act as proof of extension (however long that is) until my case has been dealt with? Which letter acts as my extension while I wait for a new card? Thanks for any insight!

Hi all! I mailed out my ROC package on December 29th 2022, I received a text on the 6th January 2023 confirming they received my case and that I-797C will follow in the mail. Using the case number, I went on the check case status page offered by USCIS and plugged in my receipt number and saw they actually got it on the 3rd of January 2023. I just checked my case status today and it says that fingerprints were taken, so I am assuming they're using my biometrics from when I took them for AOS back in 2020. Only thing I am slightly worried about is that I have not received any I-797C in the mail yet. Should I be worried that it is taking this long? Am I worrying too soon? It made me double check all the forms I sent out ( which I always do a zillion times ) and the address is correct. At what point should I be concerned that I have not received my I-797? Thanks for any advice!

If I recall, for I-9 List C and List B documents, if you have an unrestricted SSN and a valid ID, like Driver's LIcence, State ID, that meets the I-9 requirements. I made sure to get a State ID a few months ago in preparation for this.

Yes! It doesn't seem difficult at all! I still have a few years left on my passport though, so I will look to do it some time next year. I'll need it to travel in 2024

I spoke to a Her Majesty's Passport Office employee online and they said I could change it earlier ( before I left the UK), but they said I did not have to and it would be fine to just change it when it expires.There are ways to change it online. Sadly passport renewals for the U.K cannot be done at the Embassy here and I would need to do it online / by post. But at least I do not have to leave the country to get it done.

Hi! I have an unrestricted SSN. I applied for that as soon as I got my conditional residency GC. It's in my married name. I also have a NY State ID card in my married name. Does this mean that my passport in maiden name wouldn't be an issue? Thanks!

Hi! I was wondering if someone can help me out here. I was reading through the ROC section in VisaJourney (I'm about to send out my package today, as it's just a few days into the start of the 90 day window) and I was wondering if anyone could clarify a few things for me. If, for some reason, it takes more than a year to get the conditions removed and a new green card sent out, is this saying that I will need to get a stamp in my passport? I am confused because the next line then states that if you have an expired green card and extension letter, the office won't give a stamp. But what if it goes past a year from the date of the extension letter? Would I still need a stamp? Also, my passport is still in my maiden name. I had 8 years left on it when I arrived (it expires 2026) and the U.K passport office said I didn't have to change the name until it expired and I could just travel under my maiden name. What happens if I need to get a I-551 stamp in my passport, but it is still in my maiden name? Will that be an issue? Or as long as I have my marriage certificate and GC to prove it's still me, should this be OK? I just know there are huge backlogs in passport processing due to COVID. Thanks for any help.

I think we should be good. I looked at how we paid last time for AOS and it was with my husband's credit card, so I know for sure his will work fine. So I think we will refill the form using his details for payment and it should be good.

Hi all, I was thinking of just filling into G-1450 to pay for my RoC fees, but it keeps saying credit card. I would like to pay with my Visa debit card. Is it alright to use this same form for a Visa debit card, or MUST it be a credit card? Thanks for your advice!

For some reason on the trascripts they only print out a portion of our names - I'm guessing this is normal procedure? I thought I would include the tax returns because they have our full names on them, too. Is it OK to have them for 2019 and 2020 and just the transcript for 2021 because the actual tax return form is too long? Or should I just send the transcripts for each year and not bother with any of the tax returns? I just want to know if it's OK to have tax returns for some years and not for the last. I have transcripts for all years. Can anyone confirm if that is OK - yes or no? Thanks!
