Just to update, I had my embassy interview this morning and it went as expected. Interview was fine but I will need to send in the long-form marriage cert when I receive it in the post. So it's good news in the sense that the interviewer seemed minded to approve the visa once I provide them with the new marriage cert. So now I'll just be waiting impatiently for the cert to arrive! 
 
Anyone waiting on an embassy appointment in Dublin, make sure your marriage cert is an extended form, or risk delays.

Congrats on DQ! Hang in there re appointment. It may not be for a couple of months yet given current backlogs. Hope it comes for you ASAP.

IMO, I would go with your first option and hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.

Hiya! Similar to @hooley8 and @Dubliner77 we were scheduled (Nov. 3) and then canceled with the lockdown. We also heard this morning that our interview is rescheduled for Tuesday December 8th!

Got rescheduled for this Thurs. Finally get moving again. 

I have a similar timeline to @Dubliner77 except I was due to interview on 23rd of Oct. I was in contact with the embassy and they said that once level 5 is lifted they will reschedule the cancelled interviews. If you look at the embassy website and go to the visa section (https://ie.usembassy.gov/visas/) it now says that for level 4 and below that extremely limited routine services will continue. Which I believe is where they were at before level 5. This appears to be an updated communication on what they originally had posted.

Hi @neca Yes, I also found it quite odd that we would be DQ and then subsequently have a doc rejected. Like @hooley8 we were not notified of the subsequent rejection. As @JenIE mentioned, the pre-interview email we received recommended that we be proactive about ensuring our documents were all correct and approved on the CEAC system. So this is how I discovered, to my surprise, that I would need to go source a long-form marriage cert.

This is very helpful. Thanks for sending on that example, I wasn't able to find a similar one online. Here's hoping the extended form comes with these details! I don't remember having to give my parents' details when we were married but maybe we did
 
I will fill out that timeline shortly. I'm a newbie here so thanks for the nudge. 

Just note that the marriage certificate falls under civil documents, not supporting documents for the affidavit of support.  One would think that the marriage certificate you uploaded was the same as the one sent to USCIS with the petition.  If so, one would think it would satisfy NVC and the Consulate.  There ARE exceptions though.  Do you submit the same certificate of marriage to NVC that you submitted to USCIS with the I-130?

That's interesting. My Illinois marriage cert from my first marriage doesn't list the names of each spouse (and was good enough for my AOS decades ago) but my California marriage cert from my second marriage does.
