  1. Manila, Philippines. The docs. that need to be renewed are my father's and he's in the US - technically I can print those out and bring them as well ... but that's a hassle. Does it make any difference whether I upload it online or bring it in physically?
  2. Alright, I'll upload the new docs and proceed with the interview. Thanks.
  3. I'm already DQ'd. My petitioners documents (taxes, etc.) could be expiring soon. I've been instructed to schedule for an interview, but the date of the interview itself is still far out and the docs of my petitioner could lose their validity by then. 1. Does it cost money to reupload the docs on NVC's website? (Case is already at the Embassy, by the way.) 2. Will they have to review the docs again - meaning I lose my DQ status and would have to wait to be documentarily qualified before being able to sched. an interview again?
  4. Thank you! You've helped me finally understand it.
  5. Can't edit the comment above so I'll correct it here. "Sputum consumes 3 months. Hence, at the end of the test you only get 3 months of validity: (3 months Sputum + 3 months validity = 6 months.)" 1. (6 Months Validity ---- 3 Months Sputum = 3 Months Validity) "Person 2: Sputum test ....... January, Feb, March (Sputum time) ---> (After getting medical / validity) April, May, June. | 6 months validity total. ... as well." 2. By 6 months, I meant: (6 Months Validity ---- 3 Months Sputum = 3 Months Validity) ..... so in total it takes 6 months from getting your test, going through Sputum, and the medical report expiring in June.
  6. Hi, thank you for providing detailed answers! I still have a lingering question in mind. This is gonna be lengthy so please bear with me ... and the reason why I'm asking so much is because I need to almost "maximize" the validity of my medical report before flying to the US - so I really have to be sure how SLEC works. (There're things - not related to my immigration - in the Philippines that I've gotta deal with first before flying and those things take time and so I need to prolong my stay in the PH.) If I understood you correctly: Sputum consumes 3 months. Hence, at the end of the test you only get 3 months of validity: (3 months Sputum + 3 months validity = 6 months.) ... So, if two people were to do their medicals on the same day --- say in January. Person 1: no Sputum ......... January --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> June. | 6 months validity total. Person 2: Sputum test ....... January, Feb, March (Sputum time) ---> (After getting medical / validity) April, May, June. | 6 months validity total. ... as well. So, in the end, the two people (no Sputum and with Sputum test) who did the test on the same day would end up having medical reports that expire in the same month despite one of them having to do the Sputum test? Lengthy read -- I'm sorry, but I just wanna be sure.
  7. I don't have an interview appointment yet so I'm still trying to get a slot. Would it be okay to update my documents now even when I still don't have an interview slot readied? I'm already DQ'd. So, I'm afraid that updating it now before getting myself a slot for the interview could revert my DQ status (because they'd have to review the docs again?) somehow and delay my process.
  8. 1. What does this mean? Do I have to get more vaccines elsewhere? 2. It says that medical report's validity is 3-6 months. How long was yours valid, personally?
  9. Somewhat good now. Scheduling's fine - the only thing I'm having trouble with is updating documents that could expire. I don't know whether to submit new documents before scheduling (might affect my DQ status). Or, to schedule first then submit my docs.
  10. Does that e-mail starts with this: "Congratulations! Our office is ready to begin the final processing of your immigrant visa application. You should follow all the interview preparation instructions located on the Embassy’s website. Please scan the QR code below for more information. " As for the schedule - I checked again this morning and 1 slot was open so it seems to be fine now.
  11. Alright ... I still have to get an appointment (interview) but it seems like some of my documents could expire before I get an appointment. Do I submit new documents on CEAC before I manage to schedule an appointment, or do I wait for an interview date first before submitting new docs? Note: I'm DQ'd - I don't know if submitting new docs now could affect my DQ status and further delay my visa. So, I'm asking this.
  12. How about expedited cases? Is it the same? Note: the NVC expedited my case and I made no request for it to be.
  13. If my documents on CEAC (police clearance, taxes, etc.) were valid during the day of the interview but were to expire after receiving the visa ... Would it be an issue when I arrive in the U.S.?
  14. Notice that my police clearance could expire before I can get an appointment date. When I get a new clearance and upload it to CEAC, do I have to pay the fees again?
  15. Two questions: 1. Do Intermediate Relatives (IR2) have to wait for a slot to open? 2. If yes, when's the best time to check USTravelDocs? - I just checked it today and it said that there're no slots available. - Should I check every day? Is there a specific time (e.g., midnight/early mornings) that slots usually open at? Any tips here for appointment booking?
  16. I asked my friend who had gone through the same process and he did the same as you: Province under Mailing State. Thank you for your help.
  17. It's on Update Profile . I can't update other information without typing something in State. It's under mailing address (at the very bottom).
  18. Hi, thank you for helping me out. Do you remember what you put in the State field?
  19. I'm updating my profile on US Travel Docs and it says to provide my phone numbers prefixed by my country's code. I'm phone-illiterate so I don't know what to put here. Am I suppose to write: +630936 ... then the rest? Is this the right format? The website is also asking for my state and Philippines don't have any. Do I write: N/A?
  20. Update: I e-mailed the Embassy and received a response from them four to five days after my inquiry. TLDR: status can only be reverted back during the interview itself. - Embassy.
  21. Order of events: 1. My I-130 was filed roughly a month before I turned 21. 2. We received an RFE for my I-130 when I was already 21. 3. We sent the requested evidence and the issue was solved. 4. We received the case number for CEAC. 5. CEAC showed IR2 as my VISA type (I was already 22 at this time). 6. Case was expedited. 7. Case was sent to Manila. 8. Noticed that my VISA type changed from IR2 to F11. (I don't know when this happened but it probably occurred during or after the expedition process.) My questions: 1. CSPA freezes the age at the time I-130 is filed ... we filed mine before I turned 21, but we got an RFE (I-130) when I was already 21. ... Does the CSPA rule still apply (despite getting an RFE when I was already 21?) ... Note: I was already 21 when they made my CEAC account, and on that account, it showed IR2. 2. My case status is "Ready." But, I've yet to receive a notification regarding the actual interview date from the Embassy. ... Who do I contact here to resolve this IR2-to-F11 issue? The NVC or the Embassy in Manila? I don't wanna go to the Embassy for a scheduled interview date only to be denied because my date is not current and that I've been reclassed to F11.
  22. When I receive an email concerning the interview - does the Embassy set the interview date themselves in that email? Or, do I have to pick my own date? Thank you! 😅
  23. US Travel Docs has announced this recently (under RESTRICTIONS): "All receipts for payment of NONIMMIGRANT visa application (MRV) fees issued before October 1, 2022, were extended until September 30, 2023, and remain valid until this date." My visa is IR-2 and so we didn't have to pay for MRV. Questions: 1. Does this apply to IR-2s as well? (Visa fees expire after a year, mine is to expire somewhen in May.) ... I know that this recent change probably doesn't apply to my visa, but I'd like to ask everybody just to be sure. 2. "Please note applicants must only schedule their interview ... within the 365-day period. There is no requirement the interview must occur during the 365-day period." ... I found this on the same website linked above, this was copied from under the MRV announcement and so I'm not sure whether this applies to IR visas as well. ... Can I schedule (or reschedule if they its the Embassy that decides the first schedule) an interview within the 1-year limit and set the interview date AFTER / PASS the 1-year limit? Any answer for either of the questions would be of big, big help to me. Thank you. P.S.: I don't know whether this belongs to the NVC forum or Embassy, so I decided to post it here.
