Avoid going overboard with texts. In fact, send very few, if any, if other evidence is strong or sufficient. USCIS will not care, and the consulate will view text communication in the overall context of whether the relationship is bona fide. Above all else, omit any in which you might refer to yourselves playfully as "husband" and "wife." Which consulate will be in charge of your visa application?

I go for this. For example, when I travel and get a rental car, I decline the insurance that the rental company offers in favor of my own policy. The analogy may not be exact, but that's my conclusion. I fully agree with Cathi that you should shop around. Insurance agents everywhere are motivated to sell policies and get renewals, so find an honest and experienced one who will help you.
