Guess who Iran wants to win our election. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BREAKING: Iran Hacked Trump Campaign, Sent Stolen Material to Biden-Harris Campaign [...] Let that sink in—foreign actors handed over stolen data to a sitting president's campaign in order to stop President Trump from getting back into office. This isn't just a breach of security; it's an assault on the integrity of our elections. Amazing -- home energy systems, too! ~~~~~~~~ 'Second Wave' Attack on Hezbollah Targets Walkie-Talkies and Other Electronic Equipment Hezbollah must be thinking, "Just when you thought it was safe to use your two-way radio..." The Associated Press is reporting that explosions were going off all over Beirut and Southern Lebanon as another wave of attacks against the terrorist group is underway. Hezbollah says that this attack targeted the walkie-talkies and other electronic devices of Hezbollah members. The attack also targeted home energy systems, according to Hezbollah. Funny! ~~~~~~ What the Media Aren't Telling You About Israel's Ingenious Strike Against Terrorist Pagers [...] This is an example where the media are neutered because they don't have the power to change any of the facts on the ground right now. And speaking of neutering, since most people keep their pagers in (or attached to) their pants pockets, those explosions likely hit a sensitive part of the terrorists' anatomy. (Ahem.) Yesterday evening, balls were flying all across Lebanon — yet nobody was playing soccer. Sensible words. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shrinking island, vanishing polar bears — the climate scare stories that turn out to be false Looking back on more than 20 years of climate agitation, two themes emerge: a stubborn unwillingness by campaigners to acknowledge any inconvenient science, and ever-shifting favorite stories, first elevated and then dropped by the wayside. The one constant: a fixation on scaring the public, which has in turn shaped bad climate policies. At the start of this century, the polar bear was the emblem of climate apocalypse. Protesters dressed as polar bears, while Al Gore's hit 2006 film "An Inconvenient Truth" showed us a sad, animated polar bear floating away to its death. The Washington Post warned that polar bears faced extinction, and the World Wildlife Fund's chief scientist even claimed some polar bear populations would be unable to reproduce by 2012. And then in the 2010s, campaigners just stopped talking about polar bears. This is a well-written and satisfying article! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Paging Hezbollah: How Israel will follow up exploding beepers [...] One thing is abundantly clear: Israel resides in Hezbollah's communications network, as well as in Iran's air defense network, and has established dominance in the cyber domain — and now its supply chains. Why attack now is the bigger question. [...] https://nypost.com/2024/09/17/opinion/paging-hezbollah-how-idf-will-follow-up-exploding-beepers/

FBI Says We May Never Know The Motivation Of The Would-Be Trump Assassin Who Was A Biden-Harris Supporter And Donated To Democrats 20 Times WEST PALM BEACH, FL — As the investigation into the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump continued, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said we may never know the motivation of the would-be assassin who was a Biden-Harris supporter and donated to Democrats 20 times. Sources within the FBI said the mystery had thus far proved to be too complex to unravel, as agents scoured the shooter's extensive social media post history condemning Trump and his long track record of giving money to Democratic political causes in search of any sign of what may have motivated his attack. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Rashida Tlaib Uninjured After Her Pager Mysteriously Explodes [...] "It just blew up right out of nowhere!" one of Tlaib's staffers said following the explosion. "We were just going about our business, checking over the congresswoman's itinerary of Death-To-Israel protests, when there was a huge blast in the next room. We went in there, papers were flying everywhere, and there was smoke… thank goodness she had put the pager on the desk. Such a crazy, unexplained incident, right?" Hillary Clinton Says First Amendment Is Russian Disinformation WASHINGTON, D.C. — In an interview with Rachel Maddow, former presidential candidate and email server technician Hillary Clinton called for the imprisonment of anyone who spreads misleading information online and accused the First Amendment of being Russian disinformation. "The First Amendment is just Russian disinformation created to help crooked Donald Trump win the election," Clinton told Maddow. "I think it's clear Trump is in cahoots with the constitutional amendment in his ever growing march to thwart democracy." Fascinating parallel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Did the Bible inspire Israel's attack against Hezbollah? Using technical wizardry, Israel simultaneously detonated thousands of Hezbollah pagers in Lebanon and Syria, effectively castrating a bunch of fighters who subscribe to an ideology that views sadistic rape as a weapon of war. A short time later, after weathering eleven months of non-stop rocket fire from Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel finally launched serious military attacks against Hezbollah outposts. I firmly believe that the IDF looked to the Bible for its inspiration when planning this unique attack. If you haven't read Genesis 34 in a while, here's the story it tells: https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2024/09/did_the_bible_inspire_israel_s_attack_against_hezbollah.html

Poetic justice and some GREAT comebacks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rashida Tlaib Finds the Exploding Pager Memes 'Disgusting' [...] We're finding it hard to work up sympathy for terrorists who've launched thousands of rockets at Israeli civilians since October 7, but Rep. Rashida Tlaib of the Hamas caucus found the "crass memefication of Israeli terrorism" disgusting. Grisly, but historic. How far battlefield medicine has come over the centuries... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wellington Won at Waterloo, but It Cost an Arm and a Leg It's hard, sometimes, to understand what life was like before modern medicine. My paternal grandparents saw three of their five children die before they were three years old due to maladies that today would have been trivially easy to treat. Nowhere is this advance in medicine more apparent than in military circles, where soldiers routinely live through and recover from injuries that would have been fatal a century ago. Throughout history, this wasn't the case. I remember reading an apocryphal account of an American Civil War surgeon who bragged about his record on amputations: "40 or 50 percent of my patients survive." In those days, wounds to limbs were routinely dealt with by amputation. Now we have a gruesome reminder of this, as on the site of the Battle of Waterloo, a site occupied during the battle by British, Dutch, and Prussian forces, archeologists have uncovered the skeletal remains of a pile of amputated arms and legs. Interesting analysis of the pager incident. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hezbollah: We Bought Pagers From Some New Outfit [...] Back to the pagers, however, which were part of a critical security strategy for the terror group. Did Hezbollah even bother to inspect the pagers before sending them to every important figure within their command structure? Apparently not, which would be their second mistake in outsourcing. VAWA, Part 27
TBoneTX replied to TBoneTX's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
It is Wednesday, and here is our eagerly awaited Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke: ============================================================== THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY Threw out my back sleeping and tweaked my neck sneezing... I'm probably one strong fart away from complete paralysis. Being popular on Facebook is like sitting at the "cool table" in the cafeteria of a mental hospital. Dear paranoid people who check behind their shower curtains for murderers: If you do find one, what's your plan? The older I get, the more I understand why roosters scream to start their day. You know you're over 50 when you have "upstairs ibuprofen" and "downstairs ibuprofen." When a kid says, "Daddy, I want Mommy," that's the kid version of "I'd like to speak to your supervisor." Last night, the Internet stopped working, so I spent a few hours with my family. They seem like good people. -
David Muir's ABC News Ratings Fall After 'Debating' Trump While Donald Trump won with post-debate focus groups following the presidential "debate" on September 10, the same could not be said of his chief opponent, "moderator" David Muir. The ABC News news reader saw a decided turn away from him in the ratings. Even his lefty viewers apparently thought that Muir's performance and that of his co-host, Kamala Harris's sorority sister, were so one-sided that they were embarrassed out of watching for the rest of the week. It's not hard to see why 12% of his viewers said adios to his "World News Tonight" show following the debate. Fox News reports that for three nights after the debate, the audience tumbled from the usual 7.6 million viewers to an average "6.7 million viewers on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the three episodes following the debate." Is Global Entry worth it?
TBoneTX replied to Noname93's topic in Working & Traveling During US Immigration
I applied for Global Entry many months ago, and I'm still waiting for the interview. I even inquired. The response is that it takes a long time to get an interview. Current times are well into 2025. One must also keep checking the site for news of approval to schedule an interview. -
I heard Eric Trump being interviewed on Tuesday. He said that the golf-course incident was an example of combined success & failure -- stellar reaction when the agent noticed the rifle barrel, but failed perimeter surveillance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Capitol Hill's bipartisan outrage at Secret Service: 'They failed twice' Bipartisan frustration with the Secret Service is boiling over after a second alleged assassination attempt on Donald Trump this week. Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill are openly questioning the security protocols of the beleaguered agency, with senators calling for expanded investigations into how another apparent would-be gunman got so close to Trump on Monday. No excuse for this.
