it seems like the officer looked in the system.
Oh, you should have avoided the international travel. Hopefully they will still schedule you within a month.

Does anybody know realistic passport processing timelines?
We applied for expedited passport but the time line reads 4-6 weeks. Just want to know if others have a better experience.
-
I was able to have a small talk with the immigration office while we waited for the papers to print. I asked him if how many interviews he is doing on a daily basis. He told me that they are only doing HALF the amount of interview pre-covid. The process has definitely slowed down drastically.

We went to Blaine post office to apply for our passports. Expedited is taking 4-6 weeks now!!
Apparently lots of post offices in King county are not accepting applications and there are people driving in from Idaho to Blaine!! This came from the past master at Blaine.

Yeah, so we dropped the idea of name change! Did not want any delays in our citizenship

I was wondering about this - I filed a petition for name change with my application, I guess it just won't be processed since there are no judicial ceremonies? I should probably get started on doing it via the court the non-USCIS route then.
Yes, name changes can only happen through courts now. The immigration officer will accept a court document and approve name change. He is not in the capacity to authroize it

Great - Hearty Congratulations ! How did that "name change' request go? I guess you had that question before.
They told me that name change is possible ONLY with a court document. I just said "NO" to name change

Happy to update this group that our interviews are done and we are citizens now.
The process was simple and very organized. We reached there early but were allowed to enter 15 mins before.
The officer conducted the interview, took our GC and read out our oath. We got the documentation right away. The whole process took about 2 hours including the wait.
Passports are going to be another different story. Close-by post offices are booked till March 11 with no available slots
Good luck to all of you

Does anybody know if the oath ceremonies are happening the same day? We have our interview next week. In the application, we had asked for name change but if the process is going to get delayed, the we will just stick with our current names

That’s great. Did you apply in 2020? If yes, it gives me hopes that we will hear from USCIS soon. We filled in April 2020.
No, Aug 2019. Its taking Seattle almost 15-20 months to process their files.
-
Thank you. My husband received an update today. We both applied on the same day almost same time. Mine is on Feb 9th 230 PM and his appointment is for Feb 10th 915 am.
I will keep this group posted. Good luck

I guess the difference between yours and husband may be because you and your husband must have sent separate N-400 forms, right? Your husband would also be called soon i think.
Yes for N400 its always 2 separate applications. I was just hoping we will get it for the same day.
Will keep this group updated

Ok, thank you.
some of my friends applied around that time Sep 2019 is getting Jan interview dates.
Anybody here with that message got interview scheduled. I read in another forum that one guy with that message got an interview within a week after getting that message.
I think it is a glitch in the system, one day when I logged in none of the tabs showed up and in the evening of the same day this happened.
We applied Aug 23 and biometrics was completed sep 10. No news yet

Shivoham,
My application is from Seattle and waiting for N400 interview. Applied Sep 2019.
2 days back case history changed to "Invalid Date Case and actively being reviewed by USCIS".
I see that you had that message earlier as well and did it go away and is your interview scheduled. I am bit worried with the above message. Thanks for your feedback.

I have the same message for more 2 months now. I applied at the same time and hoping to get an interview soon. Good luck

From the rate of interviews, it looks like aug 2019 filers might get an interview call by Jan and Sep 2019 filers by Feb. Wish you all well.
I hope its earlier than than! crossing fingers

I was wondering about your progress. Still no news? I just don’t understand how every other USCIS office on the country can get through this process so much faster. It’s exactly the same process, but they are months and months faster elsewhere. I could understand a few weeks differentiation between offices but almost a year? Ridiculous.
No news what-so-ever! I am really frustrated with the Seattle office. Its not like FBI is over-worked or some other agency is lagging. Its just Seattle which is so backlogged.
-
Wow, no movement for anybody! Just tired of waiting! No updates what-so-ever from USCIS
-
I see the invalid date in my case history as well!
Invalid date Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS**** We scheduled you for a biometrics appointment.**** We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and mailed you a receipt notice. It is being processed at our Integrated Operating Env location -
I had an estimated completion of Nov before not it has disappeared! N400 applied Aug 2019
Instead, I have the following message:
As of September 10, 2019, we are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOExxxxx. Our records show nothing is outstanding at this time. We will let you know if we need anything from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

This is sucks. I was hoping that you would get an update soon with interview date. Did you contact any senator? I think it's about time to connect to someone and maybe call USCIS. I heard calling USCIS triggered some interviews for some people.
What is the experience for others who saw this message before? How long did it take for them to get an interview?
I have that message for more than a month now. The estimated completion time is Nov and I applied in Aug 2019. Hopefully I will receive interview soon. Good luck

So my estimated waiting time has changed to 31 days. Filed September 30, 2019. Non-combo filer. Not sure what to make of this change.
We applied in Aug and had the same thing happened 1 month ago. The dates gradually went to 1 and now "sorry we are taking longer than expected". I hope you get some better news
