Consulate Officers look at the big picture, but I can tell you that there have been plenty of people who were slightly above the guidelines, yet were required to find a joint sponsor.  Good luck in your journey.

    thank you so much!

About an hour ago, our petition was approved! Hope the NVC and Consulate processes go smoothly, but this approval will make the coming months of separation a little more tolerable, knowing we are moving ahead. I hope all our fellow September filers receive good news soon too!

Thats so nice. Im happy for you. We are approved yesterday and Im already worrying about the affidavit of support because my spouse makes the exact minimum amount required and we cant think of a sponsor. New phase, new issues that kinda makes you question everything :(

What does "most of the income is unofficialy" mean?  Income must be documented.....If you are that close, you probably need a joint sponsor.  A joint sponsor can be any qualified US citizen or Green Card holder.

Yes we are cutting that close. I think the yearly income of my sponsor is 22.000k.

Thats why i wanted to know if anyone in here was approved in the same kind of situation

    thank you for your response

  4. Hi guys! Since we were recently approved and our case is being sent to the NVC, we have to start working on our affidavit of support. Since my spouse barely makes the minimum, most of the income is unofficialy, we are struggling to figure out how we are going to make it (since we cant think of a join sponsor). So i would like to know from those of you who passed that stage... how much did you actually had to be over the poverty line? i know the minimum is 21.550, but did anyone had the affidavit approved by making exactly that amount? Thank you

You're right.  It's up to interpretation, as is "None" which is an actual name in some languages.  Pronounced Nawnay.  It's a non-issue, but I think if I were filing an I-130 online I would leave the middle name blank.  Lots of blank spaces on forms today, by design.  The forms all used to allow ---- to be entered in the middle name field which was always my practice and recommendation.

That’s what’s the person who filled the form told me, that none could be a problem and it would be better to o

put “no middle name” although it’s really not on the instructions

Just correct the error at the DS-260 stage as others have said.  A similar thing happened with my husband, when I filled out the I-130 and I-130A I put a middle name, exactly like our marriage certificate names.  Then when he got a passport, later, he had no middle name, both middle and last names were on his passport as his last name, so that's what we used from the DS-260 and on for all documents, and he was approved with no delays.  The name on your passport, DS-260, and eventually, visa and green card/SS card, are what matter.  So don't worry, and good luck!

    Thank you so much

I realize it should have been filled with not applicable instead but it’a done. Gonna try to ask for a correction on the phone and see how that will turn out

This poster THINKS it's an issue on a personal level.  It is NOT an issue for the actual case.  Yes, the poster was correct to enter "No Middle Name".  USCIS data entry made the mistake which is of no actual consequence.

Read those instructions again.  You write N/A when not applicable.  You write NONE, when applicable but the answer is NONE.  The two are not interchangeable.  Even with those instructions, many forms do not allow entry of N/A and one must type Not Applicable.

Example, when asked to enter the names of beneficiary's children, the question is applicable, but the answer is NONE. That said, there's no actual consequence for the technically incorrect choice of answer.

Example 2.  When filing a petition seeking a visa, the question about where the person will adjust status is clearly Not Applicable, but you cannot type N/A in the space.

A USCIS data entry person or software (not sure which) made an error of no actual consequence.  Carry on.

Thank you for your response. I asked a few lawyers online and they said I should. call the USCIS costumer service to request a correction but that it shouldn’t be an issue. I hope it’s really not.
