  1. I went in today at 7:30 a.m. and waited in line in hopes I could get my biometrics done, as others in this thread have suggested they did the same. The supervisor told me they could not see me as USCIS had not rescheduled my appointment with a new date. If I get a new date before I leave for Australia he said I can come in and see him and do it, but since USCIS has not given me a new appointment date, he can't do my biometrics. He said within the next 30 days I should receive a new appointment date. If I don't receive a new appointment date by the time I leave for Australia, do you think I should bring more evidence with me to get back into America other than my extension letter, expired green card and valid Australian Passport? I have to go back home as this trip has been planned over a year in advance and I haven't been home in 2 years. I was away in California when the letter was sent and didn't get an update via email I was a scheduled appointment. Silly me, should have checked my account every day.
  2. I went in today at 7:30 a.m. and waited in line. The supervisor told me they could not see me as USCIS had not rescheduled my appointment with a new date. He said that when USCIS gives me an appointment date before I go to Australia, and the date is while I’m in Australia, I should come in and speak to him before I go, but my new appointment should be scheduled in 30 days. It seems doubtful that I will receive a new appointment date in 10 days. He said they do not accept walk-in appointments if you have missed an appointment, and I cannot wait until someone doesn’t show up. It’s all by appointment only. Maybe it’s just Florida, I guess you’re lucky if you walked in days after a missed appointment. Such a shame. I went in today at 7:30 a.m. and waited in line. Please share your thoughts on what to do if I have issues re-entering America with my extension letter, expired green-card & valid Australia passport. Should I bring anything else with me? I guess my global entry won’t work since my GC is not valid. So much anxiety!
  4. I’m going in first thing Monday morning! Hopefully they have something available. Not sure what my luck in Florida will be & that I’ve already requested to reschedule my biometrics when I contacted them over the phone last week. Will keep you all posted, hopefully I get it resolved Monday! I can’t imagine my case will be denied as the appointment was December 31st and I was in California for Christmas & New Year.
  5. Yes, going first thing Monday morning. Couldn’t reorganise my business commitments last minute on a Friday! Not sure why everyone is giving their two cents on how I should be managing my business commitments. Only found out last-night I could walk in & wait!
  6. Thank you! I know how messy USCIS can get. I moved over here from Australia when the US embassy was closed in Sydney and felt the repercussions of that. It took me almost 2 years to move to America and it was a very unsettling 2 years. I am going first thing Monday morning, thanks to everyone’s advice asking me to walk in! I wouldn’t have thought I could do that, but thankfully I posted!
  7. As I said, everyone’s situation is unique! I don't think giving your opinion on situation (and on a Friday!) about how someone should manage this situation is very helpful. I cannot drop everything for an entire day without a few days notice. Thank you, & I hope this helps someone else
  8. Everyone has a unique situation. I run a business and a team and cannot drop everything to run in on Friday, the day before the weekend to go sit there for 3-5 hours during one of the busy quarters for a business! Hope this helps someone else, because it's not very helpful.. Pretty inconsiderate of other's situations if you ask me 🙂
  9. I would have an expired GC & Valid Passport, that is common sense when traveling international!
  10. Thank you! This is incorrect..... please don't give people heart attacks when you are unaware!!
  11. Thank you, wildbug100420 is saying i cannot re-enter the USA with my 48-month extension letter?? The extension letter I got is Notice I-797 saying ''we have extended the validity period on your form I-551, permanent reside card (also known as green card) for 48 months from the date of expiration. During this extension, you are authorized to work and travel. This notice presented with your expired Permanent Resident Card, is evidence of your status of employment authorization. Can you please let me know, even though my biometrics appointment was missed as I was out of state, this won't affect me re-entering America?
  12. Hi, it was a missed biometrics appointment! I have the i797 notice of action. Will this be enough to get back into America with an expired Green Card?
  13. My green card expires on the 24th of January 2025. I have a letter saying it's been extended for 10 years pending biometrics. I have to go to Australia, my flights are non-refundable and I haven't seen my family in 2 years.
  14. Hi, I received a letter regarding my biometric interview on December 31st, 2024. However, I was in California and received the letter once I returned to Florida. I never got an email regarding the interview schedule, so I missed the interview. I called today to reschedule, and he said that if USCIS believes I haven't abandoned my case they will reschedule an interview in 30 days and I leave the country back to Australia in 2 weeks for 3 weeks! Will I be able to re-enter America when I return? Gives me so much anxiety after the nightmare I had getting into the country almost 2 years ago!
  15. Hi, did your husband end up getting his GC? Same thing has happened to me and i'm so worried!! I am also CR1 visa and have been in the US for over 90 days waiting for my GC.
  16. I've been in the US for over 90 days now and have not received my green card. I received my SSN after 2 weeks of being in the US. I spoke to USCIS this morning and they are advising me that i have to attend a biometrics appointment which was scheduled for me a week ago. Is this normal for CR1 visas to attend a biometrics appointment? Should i be worried? All my biometrics were taken in Sydney Australia and my fingerprints were taken at my immigrant visa interview.
