  1. Hey guys! I followed the appointment NVC procedure and my case was completed on 18th Jan..... I hope I get an early March interview....... I sent my original Birth cert and Marriage cert. I also sent a notarized photocopy of police cert which was accepted...

Whew the whole journey was such a pain. Just a few more steps and I will be with my hubby

All the Best mgk and dunhill........ I hope your cases are completed asap

    take care

congratulations ze22! Good luck for the interview...keep us informed.

  2. OK, time to post my case status...I spoke to operator today and was told that I have to send original - marriage certificate, spouse's birth certificate and police certificates.

Luckily, my wife has already got her police certificates. I will now have to mail them back to NVC next week.

So we have to send originals to NVC now :-)

Dunhill, you could send photocopies that were notarized in India to NVC...

Spoke to NVC again regarding certified copies......

We should get attested/certified copies from issuing authorities it self!! ....i guess better to send the orginals instead of running around........but at the same time i am worried about getting the originals back safely  ........lets pary thats is the only way!!

  3. Hi,

You can apply for visitor's visa while your petition is pending. But, you would have to disclose while applying for visitor's visa that immigration petition is in process.

I remember reading a couple getting their visitor's visa coming here before final adjudication of their case in consulate.

    Hope this helps!

PS: Personally, I wanted to purse this route, but I ended up travelling to India for economical resasons.

H-1 visa has quota ... and it has Employment Categories.... My wife who is a nurse will qualify for an permanent immigrant visa. Even without my sponsorship my wife will qualify for a permanent resident visa but for India there is a long wait … if I choose to go thorough the H-1 route … it’s faster … but first she needs to pass NCLEX she has applied to take the exam but hasn’t got a date yet.

I know I have three options to immigrate her

    1. Spouse sponsorship ( 1-130)

    2. H-1 Visa (non profit organizations has separate quotas ex county hospitals)

    3. Employment based permanent visa ( pharmacist, physical therapist, nurses, specialty doctors, speech pathologist …etc will quality) ( long wait for India)

I was strictly asking about the visiting visa

  4. Yes, my ds-230 has been accepted...but waiting for hear to see if NVC might need originals(hopefully, not!).

My spouse is in the process of collecting PCC from reginal passport office.

My DS 230 is yet to be Generated, we had just called NVC asking about the documents and they said we should send all Orginals when we receive instructions for DS 230...anyway waiting for DS 230 instructions & also started gathering all documents including PCCs.

I know the james shortcut 2.0 is all about generating barcodes...but will NVC accept sending in like that?

JIGI - don't get upset, you just need to submit all required docs and you will be done.

  6. Hi,

    > Yes, your co-sponsor needs to fill i864A

    > Three years tax filing statements, w2s, etc. are needed

    > yes, if you or your co-sponsor is working than you need to submit recent pay stubs, employment letter similar to i134

    Hope this helps

    plz help

my husband came to the U.S on a K-3 visa. we are in the processing of completing the AOS packet. I am a graduate student and don't make enough money. regardless, i will fill out the I-864.

i live with my parents and I will be using their income to fulfill the sponsorship requirement. since my parents file together and I need both of their incomes... do they fill out 2 separate I-864A?????

Also... how many years of tax papers do we need to provide uscis... i have read conflicting information...some people say 1 and some say 3

do i have to send in job letters..paystubs like I did with the I-134.

Also....... can someone confirm for me......WITH K-3 THERE IS NO NEED TO FILL OUT THE ADVANCE TO PAROLE FORM...BECAUSE YOU CAN TRAVEL IN AND OUT OF THE COUNTRY WITHOUT IT........ RIGHT?

    ahhhhhhh this is so hard.

  7. Hi Dunhill,

Do you know whether your DS-230 has been generated?

My DS-230 was generated on Dec 24th. So, I mailed my spouse's DS-230 and photocopy of passport using James 2.0 shortcuts on Dec 27th.

I received the instructions yesterday. It didn't mention anything about sending original documents....just DS-230 and photocopy of biographic page of passport. But says to submit original documents at visa interview (in our case - VFS).

Hope this helps, I will keep you posted.

    Cheers

We called NVC last week and they said that we need to send in all orginal documents except Passport along with DS-230 (part 1 & 2). The same now reflects in their website....any way waiting for instructions for DS230.

Anybody who got the instructions for mailing DS230 recently, share your experience...

    Goodluck!

  8. Larry,

if your beneficary is currently not here in USA, than you would put "N/A" for item # 14 on your I130.

    Hope this helps.

hi. I hope you can help me on this:

    13. Has your relative ever been to the US.--- YES

do i need to answer question no.14, even if the beneficiary went back to the philippines.

    D. Other Information

    2. Have you ever before filed a petition for this or any other alien?

(what does this mean? coz i filed a k1/k2 for my wife and stepson before)

for some reason , its not just easy to fill up forms, and extremely expensive to hire a lawyer.

    thanks a lot

    Larry

  9. Hi Jigi,

I am sorry to hear....hang in there and talk to some immigration attroneys in Mumbai.

You can try your best by preparing following information:

    (a) get affifavits from both your family members and some friends in India and here in USA, that you are still married.

    (B) just be honest and say to consulate that your wife is not aware of her X's where abouts.

© Your wife can prepare an affidavit stating her reason for divorce and similar affidavit from her family members should help.

Like I said hang in there, try not to get upset and do your best. Everything should work out smooth.

    Cheers

    hi,

My interview was today... and i am pretty much devastated as I got 221(g) for no reason. My case is as follows and I need your guys help.... I am 10 years younger than my wife... and this case of marriage is pretty much very very unusual in India.... The Consular officer a Lady asked me how did you meeet.. which chat rooom.. why did your wife get divorced and what dod you guys chat about... actually we dated 2 years ..she got divorced..then saved some money and came down here and got married to me... and in that time I could also be over 21 which is the legal age to get married in India....

There are 12 things listed in the list of 221(g)...... Of which I had the 7 of them in my hand.. which she refused to see and told me to submit to the VFS...... the other 3 things I neeed help which my wife has to get

    1. Notarised statemennt describing and detailing how you met the petitioner and why you decided to get married.

    2. Notarised Explanation from the petitioner on when and why her first marriage ended.....

    3. Detailed contact info of each of the prior spouses.....

    MY QUESTION IS :-

1)does my wife have to hire a attorney or she can do by herself by going to the loacl county court or get it done by a banking instituation and other such people which have the right to do notary in USA for things in point 1 & 2.

    2) For her her ex husband... she has no info of her whereabouts.. what shall we do for that.. shall my wife give a letter in signing that she has no whereabouts of her exhusband.

    PLEASE help ASAP.....

Do you think I would be denied or would they take tooo long to issue me my visa.... My kids and wife are waiting for me really bad....

    Jigi
