That should be the automated message right but I got " A PACKET OF INSTRUCTION AND DOCUMENTS ARE BEING GENERATED.." when I called NVC. So this means the same thing right?

Yes, this is normal...I wouldn't worry about it. I would just concentrate on gathering the required documents.

I am using James shortcuts and filling out the I-864 coversheet and release form (being much more careful then I was with the fee bill and they receive it feb 1st so I know they will be ready for the next check...money really does move things along ) and at the bottom is the name of the embassy. I dont know if they will put Chennai or Madras. can any one directct me plz.

Generally:

They would discuss your case.

Ask questions - What you are doing? How many trips you have been outside the country? Did your marital status change? Did you get any tickets or get into any trouble with the law between your filing and interview? They may also ask for some particular documents like mariiage certificate, etc. Do you want to change your name?

After that they conduct US History/Civics test. They would also ask you write and read sentence.

You maybe asked to print your name behind your photos.

Than you should be set...depending on office you oath ceremony would be scheduled.

I was wondering if anyone has paid their IV Bill other than with a cashier's check or money order purchased in the US? My husband got the necessary US$380 money order from a USPS office before he came to Singapore to be with me but now the fee has gone up to US$400 so that won't do anymore. The instructions say "drawn on a US bank". Do you know if I can go to a bank here in Singapore and get a bank draft which is drawn on a US bank? Eg Citibank or a Singapore bank with a US affiliate.

Hey did you guys have to show interview letter to the local police station or regional passport office to start the clearance certificate paperwork? I was told they need to see this in mumbai local police stations before they get the paperwork started. Is there an alternate document one can show to substitute this interview letter document? Can anyone verify?

How is the medical process? If one cannot get their immunization records. Can they just simply pay for the whole check up needed by the authorized medical panel and complete all the medical check ups in one day?

For PCC - I emailed scanned copy of NVC letter, covering letter and a document about NVC appointment processing. you have to inform police department that there is a process change and you need to mail the pcc to NVC through ur spouse. it worked for us, we got it same day from commisioner's office. from regional passport office with 10 days, my spouse had submit her original passport.

Medical you need appoitnment letter....rest don't whether it could done in same day.

We sent $390 and they said it's now $400

We can't just send the $400 because we don't have that money and we really need the $390 back before we can send the $400

I would wait for the mail from NVC and send the same money order (390) plus another money order for 10 dollars. You should be good.

I called NVC Jan 29th (Tuesday) and on the automated system I found out that they sent DS3032 to the beneficiary and AOS bill + copy of the DS3032 form to the petitioner (me ). Next day I send both forms with USPS delivery next day( I payed $16 per document ....but its worthed anyway) and called them today and found out that DS3032 its in the system, WOOOO HOOOO.....

HEADS UP!!! Folks include two passport pictures for your DS230 filings, even if your checklist doesn't request one. Write case number and beneficiary's name in back of the picture.

NVC has made this new requirement from 29th.

Spoke to NVC Operator to confirm recent posts about RFE for passport photo...looks like they are going to request two passport photos to most embassies.

My recommendation for future DS230 fillings, include two passport pictures with case number and beneficiary's name written in the back of the pictures.

I mailed my wife signed and filled out forms G-325a

anyway, I forgot to fill out my name at the bottom of the page in the box. I told here to go ahead and do it with black pen, and she put her name in my form. Word applicant confused her, and I guess i should have been more specific.

So can she use white out on those forms or I will have to mail them over again?

Hmmm....NVC is driving us crazy!

I am tired with the game that the NVC playing with me. First they told me to send DS230-I and passport photocopy, then they sent me a checklist for missing documents, which are birth certificate, marriage certificate and DS230-II. After responding that, while I was waiting for my case to be completed, they have prepared another checklist for missing document which is benificiary's photograph. As soon as I have heard that, I have overnighted it. Now wait another 2-4 weeks to learn some other documents are missing ! What those could be? My wife's bood, flesh, skin.....................

My wife (from Ahmedabad) got her police clearance certificate from police commissioner's office for which she had to provide a passport photo and show her passport. Process starts from your local police station.

After getting her police clearance certificate from police department. She applied for police clearance certificate from regional passport office. Where she had to submit her original passport and there is a fee involved. Regional passport office would mail the original passport and certificate within 10 days. Also, she submitted in person.

In both cases you have mention that you seeking this certificate for us immigration visa.

Operator clearly mentioned required missing documents. But, its a good idea to wait for actual RFE.

My fiance has a Police Certificate and a Passport Certificate dated March 20, 2007. Is this outdated? Can you resubmit these?

Concur with ELW. In your case, its better to apply for a new police certificate.

Thanks! Does anybody know how long NVC takes to forward the case to embassy... It is now 12 days and there is no update about it. Is there any other way to find my interview date. I called travel.state.gov but they don't have any info abt it. I really hope that I get an early march date...

NVC schedules the interview date...technically ur case was updated on 24th. So hopefully if you call NVC this Thursday, you may get an update. Also, some folks say that interviews are scheduled between 2nd and 3rd week of each month.

thanks for the encouragement...I understand what you mean about being in a hurry, I had printed this form 3 times before I got it right (forgot to change the name to mine, the nvc number, and the date. each time after printed i cought something new )finally got it correct, but I will be more careful for the ones to come.
