  1. Looks to me like you applied for your SSN as a newly arrived K1. Then you filed your 485 and things. You have to wait for your EAD and Advanced parole to travel and work. check the processing times for your reciept # and that will give you an idea how long it will be.
  2. In Massachusetts if you dont live with me I can lend you my car, no problem. If you live with me as a household member you must be on my policy in case of an accident. Otherwise no one would know. We also dont have under 25 insurance here its under 3 years experience I believe.
  3. But You, They are not your Friend. Talk to a GOOD Immigration Lawyer for advise, Not them.
  4. Once she becomes a citizen She will not be allowed on the flight, will need the us passport as her filipino one will not have a visa in it. Using a Philippine passport to board for the states needs a visa or green card. We are talking dual citizens not Philippine green card holders
  5. She has a Green Card? If so no visa required to get on flight. Need one or the other to board.
  6. it does not affect your US citizenship. US allows dual citizenship. We only did dual so we could buy property. Says right in the deed that so and so, a Philippine citizen,...... They might never know but if you ever go back and work or anything else only Filipinos are allowed there could be consequences
  7. came out wrong, only thing that changed was her having a child, always had job, apartment and lived week to week.
  8. You can try a B Visa. My step daughter finally got hers on the fourth try in 8 years, Nothing changed over those years except now she has a daughter. rents an apt, has a regular job and lives week to week. give it a shot, all they can say is NO.
  9. What’s that? Overseas Filippino Worker- Works in foriegn countrys by contract
  10. We used her married name First Middle and Married name. Marriage Cert lets you change her last name to marriage name. Her Green card had her maiden name. No Problems. Just be sure to list her other names in the section asking for it.
  11. Then go Birth Cert route. Will be easiest. I had to do that in Philippines, saved a lot of problems as my wife is much older and has more name historys.
  12. I believe the medical notice is sealed. It should stay sealed until you hand it over. Save all other evidence for the interview. Sending more now will not do any good for your case. Good Luck
  13. Yes I read that after I offered my advise. I think he should see what the state offers. I know some undocumented that get it from the state. Should look into it. The price of those tickets back home every year can fund some of those costs.
  14. Who is his health care provider? Check with them and see if they hava a PCA (Personal Care Assistant) Program. I do that for my 95 year old mother in law. She is a USC but never worked in the US and is on Medicade. I do get paid but not that much and seeing as Im retiered anyway it works. Check it out.
  15. No , We got married and the chase was on. Took a year plus to get her I94 info as the original passport was stolen but after that we filed. had no issues.
  16. America! The land of opportunity. A lot of our ancestors came here for different reasons. Economic, freedom of religion, flee the oppressors and I'm sure the list goes on. Europe wasnt always a great place to live, lets drift back to the 1940s. Same with the far east (Asia) People now a days come for alot of the same reasons and with technology are able to meet life partners thousands of miles away from home. As much as the world has changed it has stayed the same. My wife left her country due to the lack of opportunity to provide for her family, She is so proud of her blue passport and was thrilled to vote for the first time last November. A lot of people take our country for granted, she does not as she has been on both sides and still sees the USA as the place that made her life complete. To each their own I say. If we were all the same life would be so boring.
  17. no, never had any problems like that. Just took a year to get a copy of her I94. Once I had that we were off. No RFEs either. We did have a stokes interview but officer seen how prepaired I was that went out the window. 10 minutes each in the office and approved that day.
  18. Wasnt hard just flood them with evidence. Play the game. She was inspected when she got here, so thats good. Did she work at all? Got to fess up if she did. its all forgiven. Just need good solid evidence.
  19. If they have a relatively simple case with only the delay in filing being an issue, would an attorney be necessary? Aren't overstays of IRs forgiven if they entered legally? My wife was a 24 year overstay. All uscis wanted to know is where she worked. nov 2018 to may 2022 Greencard to naturalazation. No lawyer
  20. I stand corrected, good to know. I was informed by my wifes cousin that we needed to have dual citizenship. Will have to inform her also. Thanks
