Consensus in this topic appears to be no - see this post and a few which follow it. -
Sounds like you're right @timcornelissen - I just received a response to the question I sent to the London Consulate as follows: This is still a bit unclear, but what I think they mean is (i) before your original appointment date has passed you can periodically check for a new interview date and you might get lucky; and (ii) after your original interview date has passed you'll be able to book a new interview date straight away.

Hi folks I'd be interested to hear from anyone who recently (in the last few months) rescheduled their immigrant visa interview at the London Consulate. Browsing through older VJ posts (even those from mid-2022) on the topic, I get the impression that the process has recently changed. I was sent an IL on 1 March for an interview on 20 April. I'd like to postpone the interview until after May. This guidance, which is specific to the London consulate, says: However, looking at my case in YATRI (ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv) I have the option to cancel the interview now. Prior to cancelling, I get the following warning: Another VJer in a similar situation recently told me that when they hit the button the reschedule, their interview was cancelled, but when they checked the system to reschedule, no appointments were available. What I'd like to understand from anyone who's recently done this is: How tricky is it to get another appointment once you've cancelled the original one? What approach did you take to actually securing the appointment - is this just a case of checking YATRI every single day until a suitable appointment pops up? Is there any way of telling when new interview dates have been released so you can grab one? Thanks!

Yeh fair enough - I'm in two minds about it. If you can select a date, then it would be OK. But if it's a case of cancelling your existing date and then getting another one assigned randomly it doesn't really serve much purpose.
-
Thanks! Did you reschedule your interview date? How far into the future are appointments available?
-
Did or is anyone else struggling to register their interview on the Yatri / ais.usvisa-info.com service? I received an IL (with an April interview date for the London consulate) yesterday (1 March), but every time I try to register the interview at ais.usvisa-info.com I get the below message. I'm obviously a few days before the end of the 5 business day grace period, but am keen to register because I want to investigate rescheduling the interview due to some upcoming travel. Thanks all!

Hi VJ folks, would appreciate your thoughts on the following. I've had my IR-1/CR-1 (London consulate) interview scheduled for 20 April with medical in early April. All being well I should have a visa issued and in my passport at some point in May. Our second wedding anniversary is in early September. My plan is to enter the US and endorse the visa mid September, after our second wedding anniversary, so I get the IR-1 with 10 year green card. If possible, I'd like to go to the US in May/June once my visa has been issued but enter the US under my ESTA without endorsing the visa. Is that possible? Is there a risk CBP will refuse entry, or refuse entry under the ESTA and instead force me to enter under the visa? Thanks!

I think there's some uncertainty on this point on VJ, I'm not sure there is a definitive answer. However, I was DQ first time last week, and I followed the following advice and just uploaded a single JPEG file of a photo taken using my phone, edited using the State Department's photo editor tool: No guarantees, but it worked for me. Uploading the same photo twice seems a bit bonkers.

@Gee2021 this VJ data says that the average time between NOA2 and Interview for IR1 & CR1 visas is 297 days. So, if you subtract your time from NOA2 to DQ from that, it will give you an idea of how long the whole process will take. Note that is VJ data only and is based on a fairly small sample (only 15 records over a 360 day period), so is probably not that accurate: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/irstats.php There's some VJ data here which might be useful though it doesn't break out the time to interview: This page explains a bit more: You can see the historic trend data of number of visa granted by consulate and visa type, rendered in a slightly more readable format, here: https://visawhen.com/consulates/manila You could also try asking in the Philippines-specific forum: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/ -
Green Card Timeline Post US Entry

@llcoolwil, see here: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/temporary-i-551-stamps-and-mrivs A friend of mine used the above link to explain to Verizon that despite not having a green card in hand, he was an LPR by virtue of his stamped immigrant visa. And, by some miracle, it worked.
