Biometrics Appointment Finally received after 9 months for 10/20/2020

Did you get two biometrics appointments or just one?

I had a house move planned (Different states) and today just got my 485/765 appointment letter, after 7 months of waiting, for the day of the move...

That I can deal with my now I'm wondering if I'll be getting a second appointment notice for the 131 for like a week later 🤮

I called USCIS just now and asked if I had any new notices and explained the situation to the officer, he said he couldn't see the 131 appointment updated and apologized.

Of course you can but giving up friends, family, jobs for that? I wouldn't want to move from Manhattan to..  idk. ... small town Idaho.

Not quite as drastic: Moving to be closer to family. If I don't have an EAD, then what's the point of staying in NYC. We're going to be closer to the beach, I can be a bum on the beach whilst waiting for USCIS. Can't wait here any longer.

Mine hasn't. It's been 2 months and I got scheduled thru the phone

This is no good man. Clear as day, he just told me what the tier 1 agents told me over-and-over: 'We don't have the ability to book you in... You have to wait until 90 days from reopening...'

I'm now planning on moving jurisdictions because we as a family can't keep waiting on the Manhattan ASC.

Hi there, i did the same thing and contacted tier 2 officer this morning and i told her that i had an biometric appointment in march and she said, she will try to reschedule it. She asked me, is 22 Oct is ok?, i said ok. After 2 minutes she said, she successfully schedule it for 22 oct.

She said, i will receive letter in mail and if not received by 19 oct contact us again.

I asked her to send me any confirmation by email about biometric, she said i cant do that

So atleast something is happening in my case

    Happy day 😊

I spoke to a Tier 2 Officer last night, and he told me the old 'No you have to wait 90 days after ASC opening' line that the Tier 1 agents are repeating.

Had your ASC already been open 90 days?

Understood. A lot of us were relieved because we were approved but didn't get biometrics and until yesterday were still not allowed to work.

Ask a stupid question - You know about approval because of an I797 or something?

The only place to check status is https://uscis.gov/casestatus? USCIS reps tell me about 'Online Tools' but from what I've seen they are not applicable to us?

  6. Late to the party here - Manhattan K1-AOS filer from February 24th. Biometrics on March 24th were cancelled. I was told to expect a new biometrics appointment in the mail within 30 days of the ASC opening (Which is today), just got off the phone with USCIS:

I was told now the ASC has 90 days to reschedule biometrics... Also that Tier 2 representatives can no longer schedule in biometrics.

Its now 9 months without work, which is fine, however I am a software engineer with customers waiting and it is making me cringe to have to tell my customers I can't start work for them.

    This has been fun.
