  1. if u fill up G-1145 u (sometimes) / will get text messages from USCIS with receipt number. but sometimes even when u did, u still didnt get any text message. what you can do is check is the check already cash out by uscis ? if it's cash out, the snail mail letters will come 10-20 days. obviously this is just rough estimation.
  2. gotcha...i will give another 1 week, and in the mean time prepare a new package ready to send. if u decide to send a new package, cancel the original check first obviously. i help a lot of people filing and this past few weeks it's been weird. i noticed some of them didnt get the text message from USCIS, or tracking system its not updated, but turned out they reused the old biometric etc etc. and on top of that it was holiday season when they received it. but i agree with u.... 12/19 u should get something or anything by now whatever it is
  3. if ur package never been receive by USCIS, if i were u, i will put new date for the signature. there's no harm since u need to have wet signature anyway. just think this way " file like u file a brand new application/ submission". im very OCD and meticulous so i rather start fresh. it's okay if i94 expired, as long as u married within 90 days since the person come with K1. just print the copy of i-94 from CBP website.
  4. ur wife its not the first immigrant non english speaker patient that they handle for immigration purposes medical just please dont brought that violation thing subject up to the hospital. what do u want to gain here? i dont know about ur wife, but i ( the immigrant) just want to get the medical... period. if i dont like them for some reason, i will bring the business somewhere else. there's no shortage of civil surgeons here in the US
  5. just to be clear because u write i-693 but u post on consular processing group, where is ur wife gonna do her medical? inside US or outside US? i can say for inside US, there's no genital, breast check etc since this is not ob-gyn annual check up, and for south east asia countries, there's never happened either. that's will be discriminatory if woman have to endure that check while man didnt. i cant say much about CONUS. as in you bringing up the violation subject about hospital have the provide translator, is it US hospital or outside US? i assume it's US hospital since u brought US law on it. i work in the US hospital at the moment so i know a a bit about translator situation. many interpreter available in my hospital are indeed on call ( [phone) and not in person. there's no way hospitals hiring full time interpreter to cater all language in person. for my language, if it's the case, they wont have anything to do since i never met single indonesian in the past 3.5 years i live in my state. if you dont like that hospital because u think they violate the law, why dont u : 1. bring ur own translator OR 2. find another place to do medical ( again my assumption this is medical inside the US, i know outside US the option is limited). for example in NYC there's more than 100 surgeon available. there's many people who did AOS inside US and cant speak english at all, have no issue getting their medical and submitted to USCIS and then get their GC. most of the time they are accompany by their family member during doctor visit to help the language barrier. if u said ur turkish is basic, then how u speak with ur wife? i assume english ? i think u over thinking this situation.
  6. in marriage certificate listed FIL's last name is Rodriguez correct ? if yes, it wont be an issue. MIL can justify that after she's married she took her husband last name. a bit a nuance here. took is not equal name change ( usually name change is completely different first name and last name for example : "mary jane doe smith" become "lady gaga rodriguez". it is obvious why mary jane smithbecome mary jane doe de redriguez.... by submitting the marriage certificate that shows FIL's name is " papa RODRIGUEZ"
  7. update timeline 5 years rule - GC from consular processing ( parent of USC) filing date (online) : 12/22/23 biometric schedule : 12/27/23 ( just got the letter last week, its for 1/19/24 appointment) field office : Los Angeles
  8. i helped a friend filing early by 60 days ( and not 90 days )before her GC anniversary just to avoid the issue ( can't take oath )
  9. sorry it happened to you. if you wanna try 1 more time and dont want to wait for ur actual GC to arrive, go to different DMV
  10. Yes. She can change both first name and last name on N-400 application
  11. friend got hers (ADIT stamp) few months ago, 2 months before her actual trip.
  12. She always can apply for b1/b2 visa. But depend on the consulate. If not so busy, she most likely will get her GC asap
  13. send everything in 1 package (paper-filing) to avoid problems. sometimes USCIS thinks that its consular processing (i-130 online). before u send, scan everything to you have exact copy
  14. whatever you need to change, you can do it during the interview. dont do it now
  15. give 2-3 weeks for SSN to arrive. can go to SSA office to apply if u didnt get it after 3 weeks. a kid enter 11/19/23 ( no pack whatsoever) and 2 weeks later the SSN card arrived. no GC yet. and ELIS fee was paid before kid entered US.
  16. there's a path for both ur kids and ur husband. you cant "give" citizenship to your husband. all you can do is file petition to him, if it's approved with additional process, he can get his greencard....along the way, years later, he can file his citizenship by himself to USCIS. to get a GC through consular processing roughly between 1,5-2 years. ( not citizenship)
  17. i just did UK visa last july 2023. $136 at that time filed the first day im eligible to apply ( 3 months before the trip)and already completed the trip in October. if u wanna save money for shipping, u can send with whatever mail service TO NYC. it doesnt have to be UPS. i bought UPS 2 DAY AIR ( u cant do 3 days ground ), either 1 day or 2 day air, via shipstation and just put the label inside the envelope. only cost me $10 ( new england). VFS such a racket but unfortunately many countries use their service. their customer service is super horrible. its like they dont understand english. i asked A, they answered Z. usps "lost" my package for 2 weeks before they found it. by then i already did new passport ( need to go to NYC !) so i just role the dice, and they actually approved my application and put the vignette / visa sticker on my old passport that's void. what i did when i enter UK, i brought both old passport + visa and also my new passport. no problem
  18. not for commonwealth contries, schengen countries. all strong countries required in person biometric. i will say for UK slightly different. i applied few months ago and i can do biometric in local USCIS field office and have to send my passport to NYC to VFS. there's no other way. USPS magically " lost" my passport, i have to get a new one ( travel to NYC in Person to do biometric), and of course the day i went to NYC to get a new passport, USPS "found" my package.
  19. If bank statement is optional, do it now then. Now I’m interested which bank run that promotion. Sounds like a good deal
  20. they never reveal how did they transfer the information from USCIS to NVC. not that i know of. my assumption is electronically. but that's only guessing. i wouldnt worry about it too much. save your energy for other matter that's important all you can do is wait and make sure you check the junk / spam folder on ur email.
  21. can you wait a little bit longer to switch bank until she's done with the interview? shouldnt be an issue, u are allow to change bank but since it's not gonna be long (i assume) for her to get interview, why rock a boat?
  22. some schengen countries are more easier to apply than the others. the netherlands is the one that is "easier" in my opinion. i applied once through the netherlands. i heard germany is "harder" so i dont really want to try. also the scandinavian countries famously "harder". i think you should look on travel forum as well, many of them knows in ins and out. and most embassy/consulat didnt even process directly for visa application. i know for example the netherlands its through VFS. one thing for sure, no matter what she need to get her biometric taken in person visa application is usually time consuming and very expensive even when you have a GC. unless u wanna go to canada/mexico. you dont need to apply visa for that countries because you have GC.
