  1. 2. no difference. 3. it can be from $4,000 up. shop, call, and ask around. rule of thumb try to meet couple of lawyers and choose from there.
  2. probably. but let say if u submit ROC with the new name while the old 2 year GC is with the old name, there's gonna be discrepancy between the plastic card and the extension letter, right?
  3. once she got her greencard, its not difficult to change her surname, but it will be costly. i-90 roughly $540 right now and sometimes take a really long time to obtain the card. some people got the new card in weeks, some got it after 2 years.
  4. Yes. Whatever u submitted with the initial package, bring the original
  5. u wont pissed anybody off by showing up without appointment. whoever the person who's in charge to guard the door is not the same with the IO. there no such thing as make ur case even slower. worst case scenario they said no u cant come without the apppointment. the end
  6. my friend attended the interview yesterday in Queens, NY. 15 mnts only mostly just asked : how do u meet, how long youve been dating. submitted additional evidence,IO scanned and returned all back. IO asked wheres the wedding picture, my friend didnt print it because she submitted in the initial package. she showed it from her cell phone and IO didnt say anything. she didnt get verbal approval and the IO said wait up 4 weeks. my friend got panicked and called me after the interview, frantically said " why she didnt say congratulations??? why i didnt get approval? LOL. i said " u dont need verbal approval and just relax !" i-130 changed to actively reviewed after the interview yesterday. 24 hours later, both i-130 and i-485 approved ( today)
  7. 2. its okay. before april 15, u can submit 2021 tax transcript as the most current one.
  8. call uscis and ask for urgent info pass call ( 72 hours not 30 days) especially if your extension letter is already expired. if she has DL and its expired too because its connected to her GC, it can be use as evidence. second option. walkin and just ask nicely. worst case scenario they will say no. nothing to lose
  9. yeah its normal. USCIS picked up often dont worry about it
  10. i will prepare fresh one including the evidences but thats me. treat it as a new application
  11. be confident, and bring 3 years tax transcript + current income thats over 125% from poverty line. every case is different. u might never know perhaps there's some issue in their application beside whatever they told you.
  12. read the edit post. i dont know what u submitted before. so if u want to share it here so others can give suggestion
  13. if i were u, i will do medical here. it seems they probably waive the interview once u response to the RFE. for evidence : anything cohabition proof that has both of ur name. joint checking account, joint credit card, joint lease etc. etc the burden is different with while u filed for K1 visa because u didnt live together at that time.
  14. just wait for them to reschedule. they almost never tell the reason why. it can be many many reason
  15. yeah unfortunately is at the discretion of the consulate. is this the first time he apply for schengen visa? it happened to many people especially if the never step on europe soil in 2016 i applied for 90 days schengen visa multiple entries and they gave it to me and i used 86 days of it. but i wrote extensive itineraries. guess u can ask them if u have solid reason ( in writing)
  16. when im on the "hunt" of lawyers in Boston, i reached out to many non profit organization in Boston. about 30 non profit. some of them have list of lawyers. and some of the lists have same lawyer's name. i cold calls all the lawyers ( around 70), ask if they handle "removal proceeding" ( you can change it to AWA ) and after those calls, more than half of the lists dropped. i tried to find lawyers that gave free consultations because i cant afford to drop $200-300 per initial consultation. the list obviously dropped again, but i did manage to get few lawyers thats willing to do free consultation through zoom or even in person. what im saying is, finding lawyer is like a having a date. u will get better feeling once u talk with some of the lawyers. good luck !
  17. you should submit more evidences thats related to cohabition / live together. traditional wedding, pictures is not as strong as joint bills, joint checking account, joint credit card statement, joint lease, etc that shows both or ur name.
  18. does ur mother's name is listed in ur birth certificate ? if yes, u dont need affidavit letters from family
  19. better get married and later file spouse visa. not good idea to file for K1, because later on have to file AOS. more expensive and time consuming
