  1. did she use someone's Social security number ? did she use somebody's name ? did she claim to be USC?
  2. please dont fedex ur greencard. if u loose it, its gonna take long time and money to get a replacement
  3. https://www.gov.uk/transit-visa/visitor-in-transit-visa#:~:text=You might need a Visitor,the UK within 48 hours https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa/y/egypt/transit/somewhere_else/yes
  4. Form I-130: $535 Form I-864: $120 State Department Processing (Form DS-260) $325 USCIS Immigrant Fee: $220 ( u need to pay this to get GC card)
  5. for sending after email, i dont really pay attention, but after RFE, there's 2 of them got the GC after that yes courtesy email is a new thing, probably 1-2 months old. atlanta is deep hole, almost similar with newark FO unfortunately. my friend just got her GC after 18 months ( atlanta filer)
  6. some didnt wait for RFE after they got courtesy email, and some waited. hard to tell its really grey area here. i know some people didnt wait the RFE, sent it, and they still got the RFE ( probably because the letter produced not long after the courtesy email)
  7. just stay put. i knew someone just got her GC after 76 days last week ( after entered USA)
  8. try this trick, might or might not work, but worth to try. file AOS without i131 application. after u got the receipt for all by mail, file i-131 and attach i-485 so u dont have to pay. i was in removal proceeding so i cant apply 131. after my case is terminated, i immediately applied i-131. the day i saw my biometric reused on i-131, i called and asked for expedited request. they approved without extra evidence total = 8 days from the day i filed.
  9. read my post. K1 is not short time anymore. it might take longer and definitely more pricey. that's why we keep telling you to file spouse visa K1 USED TO BE faster, NOT ANYMORE. this people who said K1 take less time probably got their fiance visa many years ago probably need Mike-ing soon
  10. get married, file i-130, go to school ( in that order). u have to go back to ur home country for interview and all. why do u want to do fiance visa? spouse visa is way superior and probably faster. especially u have 2 kids. fiance visa normally for people who don't live together and usually no kid to test the water before they got married.
  11. @Crabbypatty the rule of thumb is any evidence that has both of ur name is solid. if just access but not a authorize user, move along and find other evidence. its understandable if u dont have SSN yet, dont worry about it much
  12. seems like it from his post. OP why dont u file for CR1 / spouse visa instead of K1. cheaper and also u will be LPR the moment u enter USA with that spouse visa.
  13. utility bill is not a big deal, i never sent any utilities because we have none. go ahead and send it asap if u have other joint comingling, u can use it. eg. credit card as authorize user, boarding pass for vacation if any, etc
  14. that's the link that i posted on top especially if the parents is outside USA. since the mother is in the US, i think going to the local SSA office also an option
  15. I literally thought u are indonesian because of ur profile said indonesia and I assume u live in indonesia with ur USC child.
  16. Check this for indonesia https://www.ssa.gov/foreign/foreign.htm#ICELAND ( seems office will be in phillipines ) can apply by mail ( see link no 2 ) and read this especially question #4 https://www.ssa.gov/foreign/joint_frequently_asked_questions.pdf
  17. No need. Just use the place / address without explanation. I did the same, stayed in friend’s empty apartment unit for almost 3 years without lease, didn’t pay rent. my husband helped to renovate the apartment without paycheck/salary.
  18. if it happened once, I will prepare for the worst and think it might happen again ( you never know). My friend has greencard from L1 visa, from Ireland, she said she always got questioned hard everytime she got back from overseas. she gave up and file for citizenship last year.
  19. Absolutely. Sometimes I-130 “officially” got approved the day after even though It was approved yesterday. U can check my USCIS account on document tab. Both urs and spouse account
  20. I did ask the copy of the medical. So when the nurse gave me the sealed copy, I checked the copy on the spot make sure it’s all correct before I left I accompanied my friend few months ago in NYC, I did the same and I spot a mistake, I told the nurse the fix the sealed medical. Nurse open the sealed envelope, ask the doctor to fix it and sealed it back 😂 for duplicate copy u can only ask if suddenly ur medical lost. U can only ask and the doctor might charge some fee or he refused and u have to redo all medical all over again. cold call the civic surgeon on USCIS website. I did recall calling 50 surgeons in NYC and NJ in 1 day just to check the fee, appointment time, and also how many times I have to go there, some required 1 or 2 or 3 visit total price varied. It can be $300 it can be $600. No fixed price I lived in Maine, last year they have 7 surgeon, this year they only have 6 surgeon. Cant be picky if u live in small city
  21. Write it in pen. It happened to me too, I printed out, wrote it pen. No issue, I never got RFE
  22. Her medical from K1 valid for a year since the doctor sign. There’s possibility USCIS will request RFE if ur case is adjudicate after that date. The based of waiving interview is not because a person submitted I-693. Many people still got interview even when submitted one. It just sometimes when USCIS wants to waive the interview, I-693 can be the barrier for them to approve if it’s not submitted in the initial package. medical submitted doesn’t grant u automatically of anything. I know plenty of people after they sent medical RFE still got interview schedule if u want to save money since her medical is still valid, don’t submit the medical with initial package
