  1. 1. cheaper / free way : write letter to service center + local field office and explain in detail including timeline. include screenshot from USCIS website to show them that there's no interview status ever shown. basically any evidence that u can submit to help ur case stronger. send it with certified mail. on the envelope's mail for local field office write : DO NOT OPEN IN MAILROOM. write Attn. Field Office Director 2. reach out to your congressperson too and explain in detail. u can actually cc the copy for point 1 to ur congressperson so they can help you 3. more pricey way hopefully safer : file i290B ( motion to reopen) i saw few report on different forum, uscis quickly re-opened the case because they know they screwed up. if u can showed proof that u got the denial letter 2 months later, even better. 4. last resort : refile i-485 and pay the fee again. i really hate it you have to do this since it's not ur fault u can send the letter ( point 1) today. i know there's no guarantee they will check or reopen, but it's nothing to lose for point 1
  2. 1. 38 yes, because they issued u one many years ago 2. yes, or option #2 : fill out at the back of the page ( additional information if u want to be more detail) + receipt letter that u requested for replacement
  3. do you have at least the copy of it so you can fill out question 37-39c ? i dont think its a bad thing to write on the addendum page stated u are waiting for the replacement and attach the receipt letter fill out ur alien #. that is ur number no matter what and if i remembered, that alien number also stated on the naturalization certificate. i wouldnt worry about USCIS account number. if u have it, fill it out, if u dont, no biggie
  4. i will schedule at least 4 hours, better be safe than sorry. i guess it really depend on POE on that day which is hard to predict
  5. 2. what do u do right now ? just put whatever you do right now work is work no matter how temporary it is. if you are working as teaching assistant + studying, then ur employment = teaching assistant. if u are not working then u are student. 3. yes total 4 ( him, ur mom, ur bro, ur spouse) for ur father i-864
  6. 1. correct. total 2 as long as u dont have any dependent 2. for employement = teaching assistant. u are not employed as student 3.provide recent year, but u need the AGI number from the last 2 years to fill up i-864
  7. from previous posts, clearly OP wanted to live / immigrate to the US, there's no way OP wanted the partner to move to Nigeria because the goal is for OP to live in the US
  8. normally there's slight delay like 1-2 days for the status change to case approved it doesnt matter, the most important thing you get the approval letter about 10-14 days roughly
  9. Green card was send by USCIS SSN card send by ssa office it won’t be on the same envelope @Mike E OP probably did AOS but confused with IR/CR1. Most Indonesian that I know that did AOS doesn’t even know what AOS mean
  10. There’s no point to lie. No purpose. USCIS threat each case whatever they feel like which is super annoying. It can be approved right after biometric or 13 months later
  11. if they think they need more info about that name, they will send you RFE.
  12. 7 months still normal. depend on ur local field office, it can be up to 1,5 -2 years in busy Field office like atlanta or newark. does ur J1 has requirement for u to go back for 2 years to ur home country? u can try to expedite if it's within their regulation for expedite https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/how-to-make-an-expedite-request
  13. this is what i always do : 1. prep the package 2. put the whole package inside tyvek ( soft )priority envelope usps. its free in usps. it's waterproof. reason : so it wont get wet, just in case. 3. put no. 2 inside usps ( hard) envelope/ box whichever u think fit for ur package https://store.usps.com/store/product/shipping-supplies/priority-mail-flat-rate-envelope-P_EP_14_F send it. never have issue. i filed about 10 packages last year
  14. applying is fine. to have advance parole is fine. but just use when there's emergency and not for sightseeing or vacation. i know a lot of lawyers didnt offer that AP because "more work" for them u can do it yourself for i-131. my friend has lawyer that refused to file i-131 for her. i guide her to file on her own
  15. based on personal opinion, if im out of status i wont travel with advanced parole unless it's life and death situation. other might said different. im ultra traditional when it come to traveling out of the country
  16. it's called adjustment of status. depend on the field office who adjudicate the case. average 8-18 months. i said average because there's no way knowing when the case will be adjudicate especially this year USCIS does a lot of LIFO. i really think it's better for ur mother to go back, wait for interview, and came back as LPR. she also can tie loose end back home while waiting
  17. just mail it back. there's box to fill out on the form. i cant remember because it was back in 2019. it happened to me even before i become LPR because NY state pulled the data from DMV or perhaps i even did it online when i responded because theres option for that
  18. last update : actual SS card just arrived today 6/20. 2 weeks after "case under review" change to " returned to agency" on 6/6 total time since i went to SSA office : 2 months 10 days i finally can file for FOIA request now SMH
  19. just bring your marriage certificate ( for airlines ) while you are in american soil, most CBP just request to see ur GC and not even passport. happened to me, happened to my friend yesterday who just got back from overseas and landed in Miami
  20. they wont send the info automatically. in Maine, the DMV staff told me to come to the DMV every time i have change a status. if you request a new DL, they will charge u. if you dont request a new DL because urs still have few years expiry date, they will just update ur info without new card. new card = charge. every state has their own rule.
  21. The cleaner is ur case, the better it is. If you can get ROC by urself and not joint filing, why wouldn’t you. Never know what happened in the future
