  1. Hello everyone, good morning! Same for me, I applied with a divorce waiver back in December of 2022 and just now received a notification that my case has been approved and a new card is being produced. Thank you all for the help navigating through this stressful process. Couldn’t have done it and remain calm without the help of some of you. for those who are still waiting, good luck! Hang in there and hopefully you will hear an update soon!
  2. Good! I'm December, so hopefully I get an update soon. Thank you for the updates!
  3. I've actually filled mine in December of 2022, but also just got the update about biometrics being reused yesterday as well. Took a while. Also Potomac
  4. I see. I will try and get the affidavits and maybe just keep them in case they ask for more, or take them with me to a potential interview. And yes, I am planning on applying for it once eligible. I became a permanent resident in 2021, so should be eligible to apply for it in 2026. Thank you for your answers.
  5. Understood. I could probably get an affidavit from her and her mom and sister as well. But should I still send it as unsolicited evidence or just wait to see if I get an RFE first?
  6. Hello. I currently have my I-751 application with a divorce waiver pending. They received my application in December of 2022. It's Potomac, so I am assuming I still have a while to go before I hear anything back. I sent a pretty complete package in my opinion (by searching this forum for advice on what to send and etc) My question is the following : My ex-wife and I decided to give things another chance after our divorce and after I sent my application. We pretty much had been dating for the past year and a half, until we officially ended things, for good this time. Still on good terms thankfully. Is the potential evidence accumulated during this one year relationship post marriage still applicable in anyway to prove the validity of our relationship to USCIS, or does it not matter anymore since we were no longer married? Was just wondering because during this year we accumulated more of what could be good evidence for my petition (Vacation trips together, concerts, another apartment lease)
  7. Anything could help. Do you have a relationship with your ex-wife where you could ask her to write a sworn affidavit about the validity of your marriage? Like the comment above has mentioned, at this stage anything goes. What evidence did you provide with your first application?
  8. I just want to say as someone who is currently waiting for a decision on my I-751 with a divorce waiver, the information you share here about the process is unbelievable good. Not only it provides me with immense knowledge about a lot of aspects, it also reassures me in a lot of ways about my rights in case of a future denial. I filled just a little over a year ago, so I am assuming I still have at best a couple of years ahead before a decision is made. But meanwhile, being here frequently absorbing the knowledge you share gives me a lot of ammunition to prepare myself in case I also have to fight this fight. In the meantime, I try and relax and not think about it too much while I wait. Thank you for all that you do, and I hope that OP reads all of your advice and follows it promptly. Good luck to both of you.
  9. I’m so sorry to hear this. I look up to your answers a lot in regards to my own removal of conditions with a divorce waiver. Like others have said here, do not give up and let them win. Regardless of what decision you end up making, I wish you nothing but good luck in the future.
  10. Yes. I received two extension letters. The first one was 24 months if I remember correctly, and the second one was the newest 48 month one. I realize it’s a long wait nowadays, just thought at least I’d be notified of either a biometric reuse or an appointment to get them by now.
  11. 181 days since they received my case, no other update other than we received your case. No fingerprint reuse or have been scheduled notification.
  12. Go to a social security office while your green card is still valid, and ask for a new SSN card. They will then give you a new one that doesn't have those restrictions, which you can then provide it to your employer if asked, together with a driver's license or other form of state ID. Alternatively, you can go on the social security website, and request a new SSN card online. You will then visit your local office after doing that, make sure to bring your green card with you when doing so, and you will get a new and unrestricted SSN card.
  13. You can travel without a worry. As long as the greencard is valid when you return, you won’t face any issues.
  14. I think the idea of scrutinizing marriage based adjustments more to prevent fraud, and completely getting rid of ROC is the best. No more ROC, no more divorce waivers. Getting rid of the divorce waiver alone without eliminating ROC seems unfair to people in the same situation as me. When I got my greencard, my ex-wife and I were one month shy of two years of marriage, so for that reason I received a 2 year one instead of the 10 year one. Our marriage went on to last 3 years and only ended due to infidelity on her part.
  15. Hijacking this post because I have a question for the guru of I-751's himself. Did not feel the need to make a new post just for this. I have recently submitted my I-751 with a divorce waiver, and just got my extension letter in the mail last week. Due to a family emergency, I have to leave the country and go see my family in Brazil for a week. I'm leaving on January 28th, and will return on February 4th. I was wondering if, due to the fact that my greencard was issued to me by marriage, but now I am divorced and have a pending removal of conditions with a divorce waiver. Could this lead to problems with CBP upon returning to the country? I have never travelled internationally since obtaining my greencard, and have been really stressed about this upcoming trip due to the fact of me divorcing. Worth mentioning that my greencard will be valid when I return on Feb 4th. In fact it wont't expire until March 10th, but I am still planning on taking the extension letter with me to Brazil just in case. Thank you!
  16. Of course. My flight is on January 28th, and I get back on February 4th. I will only be gone for 8 days. So, my greencard would still be valid for a month after that. Still, for peace of mind, I would prefer traveling with the letter on me, just in case. I also fear having them schedule biometrics while I'm out, but I don't think that will be the case since I will only be gone for a week.
  17. Has your package been marked as delivered yet? I’m in a similar situation. My greencard expires on March 10. I have a trip out of the country on the end of January, and I’m hoping that I will get my extension letter before then. They got my package on December 29th and cashed my money order on January 6th. It’s been 4 days since and I haven’t received anything. I really hope that I get it within the next few weeks before my flight
  18. I’m in a similar situation. USCIS received my package and cashed my check on January 6. I’m now waiting for my NOA in the mail, and have a a trip overseas booked for January 28th. I’m hoping that I get my NOA before then and that I don’t hear anything biometrics related until I return. Luckily I will only be gone for 7 days. If you do leave, make sure that you have someone who can regularly check your mail to be on the lookout for the biometrics appointment letter. If they do send it then you can either be back in time or call uscis from abroad and reschedule your appointment.
  19. Thank you again. Yes, my flight to Brazil is on January 28th, so hopefully I have my extension letter in hand by then. I hadn’t considered the covid rules, glad you mentioned it, I will keep an eye on it. My return flight to the US will be on February 04, so I should be gone for only 7 days. Hopefully they don’t send anything biometrics related until I make it back here.
  20. Thank you for your reply. Ideally I would like to have the letter in hand before I go. Hopefully I get it before the 28th which is when I leave for Brazil. Better safe than sorry.
  21. Thank you for your reply. This will be my first time traveling back home since getting the greencard, so I’ve been pretty worried about it. Hopefully my NOA gets here before the 28th, which is when I’m flying to Brazil. If not and it comes to it, I do have someone who could express the letter to me.
  22. I sent my application on December 27th, they got it on December 28th, and they just cashed my money order today, January 6th.
  23. I’ve recently submitted my I-751 application with a divorce waiver. and just seen today that they cashed my money order. Assuming that it means they accepted my application, I was wondering if there would be any issues if I were to travel internationally within the next few weeks. My greencard expires on March 10, and I was planning on spending a week in Brazil in late January, so I would be back in the US early February. Do I need to wait until I get the extension letter and should I take the extension letter with me, even though the greencard won’t expire until March? I haven’t traveled internationally since moving here in 2018, and was just wondering how the process was upon arrival back into the United States, and what documents I need to have with me. Thanks im advance!
