You DO realize there's this pesky little thing about applying in the first country you come to outside of the country from which you are escaping, right?  I haven't looked at one of those map thingies in a while now, but I don't think we share a border with Afghanistan.

You want them to walk through the mountains to Iran?

So you must have missed the part where the wildfires are linked to thousands of covid cases.  Not surprised, really.

So did you hear from a friend about the nasty smoke?  Cuz surely you did not notice it yourself, since your mask kept it all out of your lungs?

SARS-CoV-2 is transmitted by exposure to infectious respiratory fluids

The principal mode by which people are infected with SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) is through exposure to respiratory fluids carrying infectious virus. Exposure occurs in three principal ways: (1) inhalation of very fine respiratory droplets and aerosol particles, (2) deposition of respiratory droplets and particles on exposed mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, or eye by direct splashes and sprays, and (3) touching mucous membranes with hands that have been soiled either directly by virus-containing respiratory fluids or indirectly by touching surfaces with virus on them.

People release respiratory fluids during exhalation (e.g., quiet breathing, speaking, singing, exercise, coughing, sneezing) in the form of droplets across a spectrum of sizes.1-9 These droplets carry virus and transmit infection.

    • The largest droplets settle out of the air rapidly, within seconds to minutes.
    • The smallest very fine droplets, and aerosol particles formed when these fine droplets rapidly dry, are small enough that they can remain suspended in the air for minutes to hours.

I'll agree he was given a ####### sandwich made over 20 years when he came into office.  However, rather than trying to improve it, he threw it into an industrial fan for political purposes.

Now we airlifting Afghanis, whole and in pieces, out of the country.

I can't argue with you on that point. We killed OSB and we should have left. The war is not unlike Vietnam in that regard. I think we need to have a talk about how to avoid these wars in the future.

That said with Trillions and 20 years to plan, did we not have an exit strategy that includes provision for getting the people who supported us out of the country safely?

Ermagherd.   You said that masks stop covid spread because the virus resides in particles of our bodies, and cannot fit thru the mask, nor survive outside of those "snot bubbles" (my word).  And yet... it appears the virus can do that, and then some.

Edit Never mind, waste of time

Speaking of misinformation, wasn't it about a week ago that you were trying to convince me that the virus couldn't live for very long outside of a snot bubble, and that masks trap all those?

Looks like that theory may have as many holes in it as your mask does:

You are going to have to show me where I used the term "snot bubble". It's not ringing a bell.

I didn't mean to come across as not nice!

How about something nice: I'm about to roast some chicken thighs with brussels sprouts and shallots, and make a mushroom gravy. And we're going to crack open a split of champagne, because it's Tuesday. :)

I was referring to me, I had something not nice to say. I have a cold and that sounds wonderful but I can't come over for dinner.

And that is what deserves the criticism.  Can you name a worse "exit" plan executed by the US?

Fall of Saigon , Mogadishu, Beruit 1984 come to mind. I honestly have not studied military history so I am sure I am missing some.

In the whole scheme of things, the outcome in Kabul was decided years ago, Like or dislike the outcome.

My main beef against Biden us promising that the government would stand up against the Taliban.  I think our leaders should just level with us on the reality of military situations. It gets complicated though when the enemy can  read the newspaper to determine their strategy.

Actually, I believe you did claim you had the job to combat medical mis-information.

    We all have that job.

As I said before, the bureaucracies we are paying for should not be lying to us, nor should they be playing politics with something like a pandemic.  When this does happen, credibility, and confidence is lost.  I point to the fact that the NIH along with their media and social media allies were pushing a single narrative regarding the source of the virus when there were other viable explanations out there that were dismissed out-of-hand.  I know, "what difference does that make" (said Hillary Clinton), it is called accountability, and if this pandemic was in fact created by government actions, there are those in the government that should be held accountable.  Instead, we get a lot of those folks that may in fact be involved in creating this issue trying to play politics simply to save their own skins.

As to the numbers, we have seen a lot of massaging going on at all levels.  Add to that the simple fact that no one knows how many people have actually been infected.

So fine, pursue these alternative leads as to how/where/why the virus came into circulation.

In the meantime, health officials have a job to do in dealing with what is happening now. I don't see how arguing about CO2 and masks or whether taking a vaccine violates someone's constitutional rights against due process does anything to manage the current pandemic and that is our first order of business.

I called my insurance company and it is covered, however not all may be covered, I will be having it done at my Dr's office which is in network.

I am getting a swab on Thursday morning as I am going to cross at Sweetgrass/Coutts on Saturday morning.  First time I have crossed since this all began, so I will update how it goes next week when I get back.  Not sure yet what I need to show Border Services, but hoping I get an email from my Dr's office and I will print that.  Unfortunately, I can't play with the CanArrive app to see.  I do have a call into CBSA in Alberta, so we will see what they say.

We uploaded a pdf of the test results and pdfs of our vaccination record.

I can think of no one who would say we need to stay.  Heck, we should have left over a decade ago.  But are you willing to speak out against your Dear Leader and call this debacle of an exit what it really is?  Or will you continue to defend him?

I am not defending him, I offered criticism, but criticism that was specific to planning and logistics on the exit.

Show me anywhere where there is a clear roadmap?

There is no roadmap, this is terra incognita. If you are the type of the person that needs it all spelled out when no one can possibly know all the permutations, you will struggle in the months ahead.  That doesn't make the experts dunces, or malicious or psyops specialist, like all of us we do the best with what we have.

As I said, the inconstancies coming from the likes of the CDC/NIH, etc. is mind-boggling.  The fear porn over Covid only adds to the stress of those that watch the news, and the political narratives the elected leaders, bureaucrats and MSM/Social Media attempt to create is irresponsible.

You believe your numbers yet cannot prove either the nominator or the denominator based on the crazy reporting system(s) out there.  In the meantime, we have a government created virus wreaking psychological havoc and attempting to mind-control the population.  You do you.

They are not my numbers, they are numbers coming from country and regional health authorities and collated at a federal level.  I am not (unlike some in this form) putting myself out there as a medical specialist or statistician or epidemiologist.  I do know this to be a fact:  for what ever motivation, some parties have gotten their hooks into the information ecosystems and are choosing to deliberately promote conspiracy theories  and  disinformation .
