Finding it helpful, knowing how others are getting on in this process.
So here is our experience so far:
Sent petition on July 16, 2007 return receipt requested to NSC
Delivered on July 20, 2007 (according to the return receipt).
Check cleared my bank on July 27, 2007
Four weeks pass, no NOA1 letter, panic (but it was sent unbeknownst to us, and then returned to sender by the post office, thanks guys!)
Phoned USCIS and was told they could not help until 90 days after the receipt date....or I could use the file number to check status online....the number is on the back of Cx check.
I do not get my checks back so had to request a copy from my bank.....it was illegible...and by the time they requested a better copy from the FED my origional was destroyed......and the copy was just useless! No file number.
At exactly 91 days I phoned USCIS, got thru the phone maze, got the file number and checked status online.
Case was recieved, according to them, on July 26, 2007....and the 1st NOA letter was sent....but returned to them by the post office...they promised another copy but it has not been recieved yet
