After receiving FR from DoS, I called the USCIS and they told me that I need to get a biometric appointment for my application. 

Has anyone gone through that? How long does it take to get biometric appointment and how long does it take after the biometric?

Any help or suggestion would be useful. 

Finally FR! We were preparing to send expedite processing request but fortunately got FR just today. Good luck to everyone who are stuck in the same process. Do not loose hope!

Some here with identical timeline got the FR early November. Not sure why it is taking this long. I also wrote to WRD, and got the same reply that processing may take 16 weeks or more.

When did your embassy send NOS to the DoS? Has anyone gotten any update from DoS recently? Last time I saw a few people got update at the beginning of the month of November.

I had a question if anyone has gone through the similar processes. 

My timeline of 16 week is almost about to end but I have not received FR yet. My embassy sent NOS on August 8th and it showed up 4 weeks later on the DOS website on Sep 8th. Considering that, I am around 16 week marker. I tried to reach out to DoS but they said following.

When did your embassy sent the NOS? I have exactly same time line but no FR  

I sent my documents on June 27th  and my embassy sent NOS on August 4th and it showed on the DoS website on Sep 08th only. 

I send my documents to DoS and it was received (from USPS tracking information) on 27th June 2020. There is no update on the website so I inquire today. I got following auto response. I am just posting it here for others reference. 

Q:  I received a delivery confirmation for my application, but it does not appear in your online system.  Did you receive it? 

A:  Applications are mailed to a lockbox in St. Louis, Missouri; this is what your delivery confirmation reflects.  Due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it can take up to eight weeks from the time it arrives in St. Louis until it reaches our offices in Washington, DC.  Your application will only appear on j1visawaiverrecommendation.state.gov once it reaches Washington, DC.  Please allow eight weeks for your case to appear online; we appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times.

I sent my documents to DOS on June 29th but it has not been update on the DOS website yet. 

Looking at the comments it appears that it normally, takes 4 weeks for the updates to show up on the DOS website, is that correct? 

Also, do people think it would be okay to send email to DOS to query this before 4 week period or I should wait for at least 4 weeks before queuing? Thanking you in advance.
