  1. Yes, it is Montreal, as that is the only consulate in Canada that processes K1 visas. And yes, it would still definitely be interesting for everyone, depending on their location, which is why people should state where they have experienced this.
  2. Hi everyone! In your experience, what is the best time frame to leave in between the medical and the interview, so that it is not crazy far apart but also not so close that the documents/results don't make it to the consulate. Mainly I would be interested in experiences from Canada but I'm sure this could be interesting for a lot of people in different areas. (I've searched for answers but if there is anything, I did not pick the right search term.)
  3. The beneficiary who goes to the interview of course. Canada. We sent an email to inquire a few days ago. So we will see what they say. I'll update here too, in case anyone else needs this info later on.
  4. If there was a timeline, then the reasons would not matter, would they? If a certain date passed and people were to come with "my cat ate my homework..." well, tough luck! I was really just looking for facts, in case someone heard about such deadline. Thank you. We'll definitely reach out.
  5. Thank you for your judgement, while you did nothing to answer the question! You don't know everyone's personal situation!
  6. Good morning everyone! I was wondering, if there was a deadline to schedule the K1 interview. We were very eager to schedule and now that appointments have come up, they are conflicting with my fiancé's work schedule. We will have to wait. How long is too long? Of course we don't want to lose the opportunity alltogether. That would be devastating. Just trying to make everything work. Thanks to everyone who has any answers!
  7. No, I claimed just my real expenses. Basically my income - expenses still comes out above the 125%. The line 22 thing just threw me off. Also I've just watched a video on how to full out the i-134 and there is no talk about that line either.
  8. I know this topic came up before but I am trying to make sure I understand this right. For i-134 and i-186 we need to reach a certain amount and I saw for self employed people, we are supposed to take that number from line 22. Now I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right line but it says: "22 Subtract line 21 from line 18. If zero or less, enter -0- . . ." and then a very small number in the end. My adjusted gross income is the number I thought needs to reach the threshold. Anyone? Am I looking at the wrong line 22? This is on my 1040.
  9. Thank you!!! This gives us hope! Have you done your medical yet? It said in the letter to wait until the interview appointment is booked. Just worried that there would be any issues with scheduling everything accordingly.
  10. My fiancé is in the process of making an appointment for his K1 interview in Montreal. Apparently you can do this through their website or via phone. On the phone they are telling you, you have to do it through the website. There are no appointments available therefore he also cannot pay. He called the number again, just to find out what their wait times are and the person told him they are not currently giving out any appointments so there is nothing available for this year and not for 2024 either. Has anyone recently booked their interview appointment in Montreal? Please tell me this is all a sick joke and the person didn't know what they were talking about! 😔
  11. From what I've just read you can enter Colombia without the vax, however they ask for testing, which I know not everyone wants either. Here is a good overview, where you can check for each country (ad your departure country, passport country, vax status, destination, etc.) https://www.turkishairlines.com/en-co/travel-requirements/
  12. Now hear me out. Ever since this injection was added to the list of required vaccines (here) I thought that was a fact but now someone sent me this page: CDC Requirements for Immigrant Medical Examinations: COVID-19 Technical Instructions for Panel Physicians and if you scroll down a little, you will see this: *Refugees and NIVs, including K-visa applicants are not required to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the immigration medical examination; however, the other components of these Technical Instructions do apply to all applicants. What do you make of this? I know since this has been added a few of you already had your exam. Feel free to share your experience!
