How orderly does NVC review documents?

This fee can only be paid after visa approval. So it should have been recent as that’s the last step in the process; if you don’t remember paying this fee after their visas were approved, then you probably didn’t pay it. Consulates *should * tell you about this fee but it’s not mandatory for them to do so, so I don’t think all of them are diligent about that.

What happens if we let the visa expire ?
powerpuff replied to CJohn's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
They will not do that at the consulate. The CBP will do that at the port of entry in the US when the beneficiary flies into the US. You are not an LPR until the CBP stamps your passport. You simply have an immigrant visa to enter the US with. -
I-129F: Unknown Info on Estranged Father
powerpuff replied to Howy's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Use the search feature to look for similar posts. Unknown is a perfectly acceptable answer as that is the truth. Not sure why it seems like it won’t be. So far haven’t seen a single post that said the reason for a petition denial was wiring unknown in this field.- 5 replies

I see this often and there’s no other way around this except filing the I-824. -

What do you mean where they get it from? They’re the ones waiting and that’s the situation they’re all in, still waiting for interviews since 2021. They’re reporting their own timelines, you can post there and ask if you want. The consulate does not post data like this so this is the most reliable and accurate source.
-
Trust me, you do not want to interview in Pakistan because of the wait. If you have a chance to transfer, do it. People who have been DQ (submitted all docs at NVC and waiting for the interview letter) in July 2021 are only now getting their interviews. They must have filed their I-130 in 2020. That’s a 3-4 year… You won’t have the problem of a transfer like that person did because the queue for China is not long so they didn’t change the consulate in time at NVC, it already got “shipped” to the consulate. You will not have that problem as Pakistan has that extremely long wait so your case will be just sitting in NVC and you’ll have plenty of time to change the consulate. Here is the thread with the wait times for ISL:

Health insurance while waiting for AOS
powerpuff replied to tin.e's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
No, I went to the insurance office (Fidelis) but you can go into any (Health first, Cigna, BCBS etc). The agent who worked there helped me sign up. I got the health insurance before I even applied for AOS. And I was treated as a resident without questions rather than a visitor- 15 replies

It’s not a matter of choice but policy. K1s always bring I-134, not I-864.

Never send originals to USCIS unless explicitly stated in an RFE. Photocopy only -
Case processing year petition brothers
powerpuff replied to prai's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
It’s not USCIS, but NVC (department of state) who publish when visa numbers become available. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2023/visa-bulletin-for-april-2023.html each month they publish the visa bulletin, you can search for older ones -

Except India, Philippines and Mexico, petitions filed in 2007 are now eligible to receive a visa. -
Dob wrong on green card
powerpuff replied to Aoife&Cam's topic in General Immigration-Related Discussion
Because she made an error and typed a wrong DOB on I-485. That’s not DHS error. Plus they contract a third party to print out GCs so that contractor does not have access to the entire immigration file to see other DOB on other documents nor would they have the time or capacity for that. _________________________________________ ~~ Topic moved from AOS K1 forum to General Immigration discussion where I-90 questions are discussed ~~ -
