  1. Yes, there’s a delay. You don’t have the results with you so they have to wait for them, naturally there’s a delay
  2. This is not the case. Fiancé and spousal visas take about the same to process, about 18-24 months. This is why I personally think that if you have to wait the same time anyway, might as well apply for spousal as that is a much better option - you get a GC right after entry to the US. With a K1, that’s just the beginning as you have to apply to adjust status and wait even more, not to mention the increase in fees that is taking place at some point in the near future.
  3. You just go to the interview, after which they will issue 221g, put your case on hold and they wait until your medical exam results get to them. It’s pretty common
  4. If that was considered an indication of a bona fide marriage then everyone would be doing that. Especially when it comes to difficult consulates.
  5. ~~ topic moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures ~~ no.
  6. I suppose it could be. Only the consulate can answer that with certainty
  7. Either tax return AND w2 or only tax transcripts. Tax transcripts are better as that’s the only evidence that you actually filed. Plus they’re simpler to read
  8. ALWAYS only rely on official USCIS instructions. Follow what it says on the chart.
  9. Very poor advice from your attorney.
  10. That makes a lot of sense, thanks for clarifying. I always thought the answer would be No to the question but it is indeed “yes”
  11. The only possible option for her to come and live in the US is for your wife to petition her as an IR5 after your wife become a US citizen. That will take several years.
  12. ~~ Topic moved from spousal visa forum to Adjustment of status forum ~~ This sounds beyond the DIY scope of this forum, you need an attorney maybe @Misscloud can provide some advice
  13. The time to receive NOA1 always fluctuates. At one point in 2021 it took about 6 weeks to receive it
  14. Only spouses of US citizens have the privilege to apply after 3 years based on the marriage
  15. ~~ Duplicate thread removed. Do not start multiple threads on a topic - that is spamming ~~
  16. ~~ Topic movies from Process to Progress Reports ~~ 16 months.
  17. I don’t think it does. It’s very much dependent on which FO is processing the case. Why clog up the system that is already slow as is with unnecessary petitions?
  18. ~~ Topic moved from K1 process to IMBRA sub forum ~~ ~~ Duplicate thread removed. Please refrain from starting a new thread on same/related topics, in the future if you want a thread moved, hit the report button and it to be moved ~~

  20. Follow the instructions they gave you. If they send upload on CEAC AND send by courier, do both. If they just said upload to CEAC, just do that.
  21. I-485 makes no sense in your situation. It is for someone who is is adjusting status in the US. Like in my situation, I came to the US on a K1 fiancé visa, married, and had to file paperwork to adjust status to receive my GC and filed I-485. Some people report that filing K3 helped nudge their I-130. There’s a whole sub section on K3 in this forum.
  22. Yes, it will affect communication from NVC as they send a letter through email when the case departs NVC to go to the consulate (note that there are no welcome letters when your case gets to NVC from USCIS). Send a public inquiry to NVC and ask them to update the email.
  23. ~~ Another duplicate thread removed. Please stop making new threads for related topics as that’s considered spamming. Post all your further post in THIS thread only ~~
