  1. How is it NVC’s fault that you did not follow directions? What does COVID have to do with you simply emailing them and letting them know you’re postponing the case? Your child is not eligible for CRBA. You must be a US citizen at the time of birth, not after. No way around this. File a petition from scratch, the sooner the better.
  2. ~~ Topic moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures ~~ She does not have to live in the same household.
  3. UStraveldocs is used to for making appointments for non-immigrant visas. Hence why you can’t see your there - you have an immigrant visa case
  4. There’s a big difference between that case and yours.
  5. But you do have an immigrant intent. What you suggest is nothing but immigration fraud.
  6. ~~ Topic moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures ~~ NVC will notify you when case is sent from NVC to the consulate.
  7. If that’s for citizenship, then I can only conclude he’s attempting to file under a 3 year rule - based on a marriage to a US citizen
  8. None of these are asked to be submitted for a tourist visa application.
  9. No. You should seriously reconsider going with the K1.
  10. No problem! I think you’ll be fine even if it’s after 1 year to be honest.
  11. Interview took place about 11 months after the certificate was issued
  12. Yes, it still applies. I had to get one from an European country I was living in at the time, got it a bit early, stayed about 5 more months after getting it. No issues at the interview in my home country. As long as you don’t go back to Canada before the interview, the one you have will remain valid.
  13. I’m confused. Where do you live now and have you been back to Canada since you were there last time when you got the police certificate?
  14. This is out of ordinary and is not standard practice. Reading your old posts, not seeing each other for over 2 years might be an issue.
  15. They didn’t approve us verbally and the case was approved online in a few days. I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Be sure to post an update when it comes, good luck!
  16. Everyone’s case has to be reviewed after the interview, this is standard procedure. USCIS has 120 days to issue a decision, meaning you can only inquire about the case status aster 4 months post interview.
  17. I don’t think you did. It’s written out in steps 4-7.
  18. There’s seems to be lack of research into the process. Here’s the process step by step. I suggest you study it with great detail https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition.html Those estimates are known to be not very accurate. Average processing for I-130 is about 12 months, give or take Look under immigration time lines here on Vj and filter for IR5 cases. No they cannot just set up an appointment. You’re missing the whole NVC process where you have to provide a number of documents, wait for them to be reviewed, then if everything is on order you get Documentary qualified (DQ) and only then you’re entered into a queue waiting for an appointment letter. Again, all of this is in the link above. That is immigration fraud. Chances of B2 are very low considering they have a strong immigrant intent. Agree with @Timona. You need to buckle up, this ride is close to 2 years from start to finish.
  19. You can try but not sure it’ll be granted due to an immigrant intent.
  20. ~~ Duplicate thread removed. Do not start multiple threads on related topics (case transfer in this instance) as that’s considered spamming ~~ ~~ Topic moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures ~~ if you get residence, there’s should be no issue transferring.
  21. Well, expediting still doesn’t mean fast in immigration. It’s possible you’ll manage to get a medical well in advance of the interview. There needs to be enough time between medical and interview so the results get to the consulate before the interview. However there’s no way to predict how it’ll go for you No standard timeline for how long 221g can take for a medical, I’d say probably a few weeks
