  1. Biometrics are always scheduled very quickly, seems like standard practice
  2. No idea. There doesn’t seem to be rhyme or reason to it. Some people don’t even get AP, just refused
  3. Sorry it happened to you. I agree it’s rare and not standard practice, I have heard of them asking for police certificates from the US in the AOS process when the fingerprints were unreadable from the biometrics. Hopefully you can send everything asap and get an approval, be sure to post an update
  4. What country did they ask the police certificate from?
  5. ~~ Duplicate thread removed. Please Do not start multiple threads asking same or related questions as that’s considered spamming.~~
  6. It means it’s in administrative processing which everyone goes through. Verbal approvals do not indicate approval. It’s only truly approved when you see “Issued”.
  7. Not at all. You’re still a lawful permanent resident regardless of a 2 or 10 year one and you have the same rights under both.
  8. NVC never schedules interviews for K1 applicants. It’s almost always self schedule (I would say 90% of consulates have this practice) with a handful of consulates that schedule them for the applicant but never NVC. Nothing you can do but keep checking. It’s a common issue
  9. It’s a non issue. People get married with that timeline with no questions asked, let alone file for a fiancé visa. File away, Philippines is not a difficult consulate
  10. Nobody here is stopping your fiancé from applying for a B2. She should try her chances, it’s only $160 to find out (starting May 30 its $185).

  12. ~~ Topic moved to SSN sub forum ~~ Approving a visa doesn’t make one an LPR. They have to cross at a POE to activate the visa, that’s when they officially become an LPR. Yes, SSN is supposed to be mailed but sometimes doesn’t so you’d have to go to SSA office and apply. She can travel internationally too on a temporary one.
  13. Yet another example of lawyers messing up on minor stuff. I can’t tell you how many of this I see on VJ… they should really refund you some of the fee to be honest if you do get an RFE. Sorry it happened - let this be a learning moment not to put all the trust in a lawyer for future processes you’ll come across (AOS, ROC etc).
  14. I’ve read similar cases here. As you know overstay is forgiven for spouses of US citizens so I don’t see an issue with your case.

  16. Visa will not be issued until everything is cleared.
  17. You’re right, that should be sufficient. I don’t know why I l assumed the parent was not consenting, my apologies
  18. No. This is the fastest way. I believe this is going to be a problem. At the interview, the consulate will want to see a court order allowing the child to move to live permanently in the US.

  20. Ds260 is for spousal visas. Police certificate and affidavit of support are brought to the interview. There’s nothing to do now but wait until NVC sends the case to the consulate. This can take weeks or months depending on the consulate backlog.
  21. You’re good to go, enjoy your vacation. I would carry a copy of the NOA1 for I-485 with you just in case
  22. That is not realistic. Just because you’re not staying for full consecutive 6 months, doesn’t mean this proposed plan will not raise eyebrows. Yes. You’re spending 6 months out of a year every year with your pattern of travel. How is that visiting for tourist purposes?
  23. Well, the consulate has the power to revoke the visa after it’s been issued and before entry to the US
