  1. Try a different SSA office. Preferably in a larger town/city with bigger immigrant community
  2. My I-485 also showed “closed” after approval. From what I see here, it’s been approved and sent to NVC.
  3. NVC is within the department of state. From what I’m understanding, it has been sent to NVC, maybe the wording is off and they said “dept of state” instead. Your friend should contact the NVC and inquire. His son does need his own I-130, as he was not a USC when the child was born.
  4. There’s nothing you can do - your PD is not current yet. Right now those with PD of 15 Dec 2014 & prior are getting interview letters. You have a minimum of a 2 year wait ahead.
  5. ~~ Another duplicate thread removed. Do NOT start a new thread on this topic again as that is spamming. Only post in THIS thread, thank you ~~ Only people working In the consulate would know the answer to this question. They probably do not have the capacity right now and it’s been put on pause, it’s a common practice since COVID
  6. This depends on the consulate. If they didn’t specifically request a wet signature, then scanned should be fine (as in person signs, scans, sends via email and it’s printed out).
  7. Everything is done online today, including submitting the application, paying a fee and booking an appointment.
  8. There’s nothing you can do for her apart from assisting her to fill out the application. She needs to apply and be assessed based on her own merits, there’s no sponsorship from a USC or anyone else
  9. Who knows. USCIS will increase fees any day now and the I-131 and I-765 will no longer be free
  10. ~~ Duplicate thread removed. Please do not start multiple threads and only post once per topic ~~
  11. So you haven’t checked the form by yourself before the lawyer sent it out? Why would you put so much trust in them? at the end of the day, you’re the one who is responsible for the contents of the form. No, I would not leave it as it is because you’re adjusting on the wrong category. When time comes for them to adjudicate your petition or when you come for an interview, they will see that you’re adjusting from the wrong category. Personally, I would withdraw both forms and file again properly. Your so-called lawyer has put you into a complete mess of a situation.
  12. ~~ Topic moved from K1 forum to AOS K1 visas forum - this is now an AOS case ~~ Seriously though, that is just sad. This is the most basic of immigration knowledge and these ”lawyers” charge absurd fees AND make you pay an unnecessary USCIS fee ….. this issue has been discussed recently in the below thread:
  13. ~~ Topic moved from IR1/CR1 spousal visa forum to AOS tourist/work/student visas forum - this is not a spousal visa case ~~
  14. @Jo&kri please post in existing monthly filers threads rather start a new one. Thank you. I put your post into April 2021 K1 AOS filers group.
  15. She can take a picture where she is, either herself or at a photo place (I took it at a local photo place), send it to you digitally and you can print it out at CVS or Walgreens. That’s how everyone does it
  16. ~~ Duplicate thread removed. Please do not start multiple threads per topic as that’s considered spamming ~~ @SteveInBoston gave a pretty clear answer. He gave you two options, first is more clear and simple, and second a little more complicated. Which one you go with is your decision
  17. ~~ Topic moved from Bringing Family members forum to CRBA forum ~~
  18. ~~ Topic moved from CR1/IR1 process forum to USCIS as the question is about USCIS online account ~~
  19. ~~ Topic moved from CR1/IR1 visa forum to US consulate & embassy discussion as the question is about consulate in Lebanon ~~
