  2. Yes, absolutely. Plus the same name. Did you find him through Google?
  3. Are the names the same?
  4. RFEs can be received at any time in the process. If they haven’t sent it yet means your file wasn’t looked at/didn’t get in the hands of the immigration officer. Unfortunately, these petitions lay around for 15-16 months (or however long the estimate is) just for someone to adjudicate them in a matter of 20 minutes.
  5. Another story of attorneys being incompetent even in the most simple of cases. The letters of intent is not just important, it’s a requirement. You have two options: 1. Try to send both letters of intent to the service center processing the petition. This is not guaranteed to work but worth a shot. If it doesn’t work, you’ll just wait for an RFE. 2. Wait to receive an RFE.
  6. No, it’s already been submitted
  7. It might or it might not. No way to predict now, this is another reason I do not recommend submitting any chats. We submitted none
  8. A person can have multiple I-130s pending from different family members, it’s not an issue. Sounds like the lawyer really wanted that 4k Do you mean your mother in law? You can’t withdraw her petition. Anyway, it is not required, you can file today if you choose to. As I mentioned, a person can have several I-130s form various family members, it’s not an issue at all.
  9. As someone who also came to the US having no family here and living in a household with my husband’s family, it can be tough and isolating at times to be home all the time and be expected to interact with everyone. I really enjoyed getting out of the house, maybe try having family activities and fun things to do as a group outside of the house? Maybe dinners out, picnics, movies, bowling, things like that.

  11. ~~ Topic moved from IR1/CR1 spousal visa forum to AOS work/tourist/student visas ~~ You can file for him but he can’t work, remotely or otherwise, until he has proper work authorization.
  12. ~~ Duplicate thread removed. Please do not post same or related questions multiple times ~~ That’s very common
  13. True! Actually remembered 2 cases that were based on LGBTQ, those were real as far as I know based on political stuff (opposition) and also sexual orientation claims, they’re pending last time I heard
  14. I would reach out to the consulate of Kazakhstan in Russia to see what they might suggest.
  15. Most asylum cases I’ve heard of among friends of friends and acquaintances have been fabricated. People will go great lengths to stay here at all costs
  16. I hope your attorney made you aware that they need a I-601a waiver and that you’re not a qualifying relative. i find the statement that “he’s always done things legally” ironic considering the fact that he and your mother came here in 2001 and overstayed and have been in the country illegally ever since. Anyway, I do not want to stray from the topic at hand which is the EAD wait times. They are what they are and it appears there’s nothing to do but wait for it to process.
  17. So he has been out of status for the past 20+ years? Is he applying for AOS based on your being a USC?
  18. @Boiler and @Crazy Cat are correct. SS alone does not grant work authorization, you have to have either an EAD, GC, work visa. I doubt they will expedite a case where an applicant has been working without proper work authorization, i.e illegally. A lot of people in this country hold jobs, pay taxes and they do that without work authorization.
  19. that research is incorrect. Both take 2+ years. Plenty of people. Did you look around the forum? There are monthly threads for each month of each year. I did one too but when processing times were not 2 years.
