  1. If you claim any of them as your dependents on taxes then they’re part of your household and you count them.
  2. I had a very similar experience. They had their doors closed and a long line outside. Then at 10am or something like that they opened the doors and we all went it and had to wait in another line, then got seated and waited each our turn (so didn’t matter what time your appointment was). I think I was there for at least 3 hours. They also had trouble taking my fingerprints as they weren’t clear enough so that took longer. My palms get sweaty easily and I think I also put lotion before leaving the house so my advice is don’t do that.
  3. We did this too! A really cost effective solution.
  4. As I keep saying many times here, verbal approvals do not count. They can be ignored in my opinion since situations like these happen all the time. A true approval is when the status in CEAC shows Issued, not when a CO says it
  5. That is a very odd thing to do, even if the reason was different (work). Not seeing your spouse for 3 years “due to Covid” but going to a another West African county for business and not using the opportunity to see you spouse

  7. Unfortunately, info pass doesn’t work anymore. They figured out the hack
  8. They’re unto us 😫 that is so frustrating. What a joke
  9. LPR = Lawful Permanent Resident = GC (green card) holder. That is very different from being a naturalized US citizen.

  11. You have to contact NVC to find out your case number. NVC only ever notifies you (the petitioner via email) when they send the petition to the consulate, if you’d like to find out before that then you’ll have to send a public inquiry.
  12. There’s a processing range for I-129f and the lower limit is 16.5 months. The upper limit (at which you can file an inquiry with USCIS) you can find out by inputting your receipt date on uscis processing page when you select I-129f, here’s what it showed for June 27, 2022:
  13. ~~ Topic moved from Process & Procedures section to Progress Reports section~~ You’re well within the normal processing time for I-130 which is 12-14 months on average.
  14. ~~ Duplicate thread removed. Please do not start multiple threads on related topics and keep all updates in one thread ~~
  15. ~~ Topic moved to Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration benefits to be among similar threads ~~

  17. Probably a non issue then although that would be an awkward conversation with a CO
  18. True… there’s a question asking if you have any family members living in the US…

  20. Green cards are for living permanently in the US. Green card holders need to spend more time living in the US than outside of it. Why even petition them when they do not want it? Are you aware that their insurance premiums will most likely cost thousands of dollars a month? Generally new immigrants are not eligible for Medicare for first 5 years of becoming LPRs.
  21. ~~ Topic moved from CR1/IR1 spousal visa forum to Removing Conditions on Residency as this is about I-751 ~~
  22. The days of fast K1 processing are long gone. It takes 18+ months to get a K1 visa. CR1 takes 18-24 months but it’s an infinitely better choice considering it’s practically the same wait time. And I did a K1 a few years ago
