  1. Last Friday saw the end to my immigration journey as I took my oath and officially became a US citizen. I just wanted to say thank you all for this forum and for the guidance that is available here. Your messages are seen by many more people than just those who post/comment and sharing your experiences provides valuable insight into a stressful process. To those in the midst of the process, just starting - or thinking about starting, hang in there. It's not a short journey by any means but the outcome is worth every minute of it. I'm off to begin the next chapter of my life as an American. Until we meet again.
  2. According to https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html under the section for police certificates, you only need to submit police certificates from your current country of residence if you've lived there for more than 6 months (if different from you nationality) and other countries you lived in for more than 12 months however, if you were arrested in any of those countries, you will need to provide a police certificate irregardless of how long you were there
