  1. We submitted the DS-160 today. She will go to the bank and make the payment tomorrow. Endgame…
  2. You do the 134 for the visa. You will do the 864 when you do the Adjustment of Status to get the green card after your marriage.
  3. Thank you for this. Looking at the payment coupon you take to the bank, it calls for a reference number. I assume that is what you get after your submit the DS-160? Just because sometimes I need things ELI5: 1. She completes the DS-160, and then there is a link to submit it. 2. After submitting, she gets some receipt number needed to make the payment. 3. She takes the cash to RCBC and pays the fees, using the number from #2 above. 4. She can then go to https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-appointmentschedule.asp and schedule the interview. 5. Following that, St Luke’s can be scheduled. 6. When physical & interview are complete, start jumping thru the CFO hoops to reach the endgame. Is that about it? If so, you guys might want to put these steps in a FAQ or something somewhere. I’m sure many folks have the same questions. Thank you for your time. I truly appreciate it. Is been quite a road so far, but we can see the end finally.
  4. The fee is $220us? Is it the travel.us.gov website that you use to do all this?
  5. I’m trying to find out what is next. CEAC says the embassy will contact us with info on what we do next, but I hear every country is different. Some send info packets, some don’t. Hopefully someone that has been through it will chime in.
  6. Our case status went to Ready today! Less than 2 days after In Transit. Crazy times ahead.
  7. CEAC says we will be contacted regarding the next steps. I understand every country is different. Will the embassy send us an info packet? Or do we just go ahead and find out how to submit the DS-160, get the receipt, and make our appointments?
  8. We were under the impression that you still must attend the same course, it’s just now impossible to take it before you have the visa in hand. You still get the certification to present at departure, and I don’t think you need to have all your supporting paperwork in hand at the airport.
  9. Thanks! We are more than ready. I see you are Philippines as well. Have you been researching the CFO requirement? Looks like that will be the final hurdle, and looks to possibly be a considerable pain in the tukus.
  10. NVC actually sent me an email. If you can believe that. This was the last line of the email: Thank you for your patience in the immigrant visa process.
  11. Now THAT is a helpful post. Thank you. Even if the answer was not what I was hoping for. 😝 Having spent quite a bit of time in the PH, dealing with immigration and visa extensions, can anyone tell me if there are ‘fixer’ services available in Manila that can streamline the CFO process after the interview and receiving the paper back? Having spent all this time and money to get to the endgame, I have no problem greasing the wheels if we can.
  12. That’s the problem. She does not have the visa yet. We were told she can take the course now and email a pic of the passport and visa when received. Technically, the K1 is a non-immigrant visa, and by this email, the course is not required. Rules change like the weather in the Philippines.
  13. I found the following from travel.state.gov If that is so, and the email is correct, then K1 visa holders are no longer required to take the CFO course. .
  14. I ask because we got an email regarding a class we thought she had to take before she can get on a plane. Supposed to attend next Monday. Now she gets an email, included below, that screws everything up, unless K-1 is a non-immigrant visa. Then supposedly, she is not required to take the class. So. K-1. Immigrant or non-immigrant? I hear different answers all the time here, especially when we are tracking the progress on CEAC. Thank you.
  15. We secured an appointment for the CFO class, supposed to attend next Monday. We were assured that we could attend without having a visa in the passport. Today, she got the email below. I won’t pretend to know how to decode it. Is it true that the K1 is a non-immigrant visa? If so, this email says CFO is no longer required. Pretty confused. I appreciate any illumination you can give. Thank you.
