I am at the stage, where I am about to start my renunciation process of Indian Citizenship. The VFS Global form has a Marital Status field. Now, in my Indian Passport I am single. My naturalization certificate says Married. What should be the my status in the renunciation process?

Joint tax after naturalization
Regdkp replied to Regdkp's topic in Passports, etc. - What to do now that you are a US citizen
Thank you so much. My spouse probably panicked. It is some kind of program where the county helps with the Medicare part B premium. He is dealing with some health issues, so having some comprehension issues at times. I think, we are good and no need to change our tax filing or anything. I really appreciate your inputs. I was trying to recall, last year when we went full on , with his Medicare, there wasn't any clause for income, so why would he get such a letter. -

Medicare. He is 65+. He was on my insurance, even after retiring and medicare eligibility. But he chose to go on Medicare part B and other supplemental options, starting 2024, so his health needs are catered, especially financially. Any out of pocket we still manage through my HSA plan. -
I just got everything done. Received my US passport, about 2 weeks after the oath ceremony and immediate passport application. My spouse who is on Medicare for his medical coverage, received some letter about coverage B. We are yet to reach out to his agent. However, we wondered if the joint taxes from the last year (we have been doing since 2020) caused his income to go up and triggered something about the Medicare. My main question is do we have to keep doing joint taxes? We want to find a good way where he doesn't have to compromise his Medicare coverages. Even if we need to file separately as married people. Thanks for your input.

N400 interview scheduled / I-751 pending
Regdkp replied to dave2's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
For my case, I did mention that the I751 was pending at the time of N400 application submission (6/30/2024). In about a month, I got the interview scheduled. Soon the fingerprint update part happened. I started preparing for my interview with my spouse. By mid August, I got I751 approved and I got the 10 years card. 1 week before my interview I got the letter for I 751 interview. The date and time of the interview was the same as the N400. We both went and as soon as the officer called us, I told him that we got two letters, especially I 751 interview. His reaction was, "Who sent you this?". I mean it came from the same USCIS office. He told me to not worry about it as I already had the 10 years card. However, we did prepare our documents in case of any confusion. The officer asked us to show latest property taxes, latest tax returns, latest paystubs, latest bank statements. He was surprised that we had everything that he asked for. He asked if those were the same which we uploaded. Then he asked me 6 questions, which I answered correctly. He asked my spouse about his prior marriage and divorce. But the conversation was with very friendly tone, nothing like grilling us. He did ask me to read a simple sentence and write a sentence. Then he kept updating a lot of things, and asked us if we were okay to attend the oath the same day. We took the opportunity and returned to the ceremony. My advice would be to be prepared for both interviews. They know that the two applications do get mixed up and local offices might not have all the updates. But whatever the situation by the time you attend the interview, immediately inform them and answer and provide evidences as they ask. It is a process Even if you have to wait additional days they would fix everything and you will have the good news. However, I do hope that things go smoothly for your case. -

I-751 October 2022 - Filers
Regdkp replied to Sarge2155's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
I received my 10 years card on Monday(from the USCIS Lee Summit Missouri). Prior to that I already had received my N400 interview letter (it is on the 5th September). Today I received a letter for interview for the Removal of Condition application, from the same Charleston, SC office. The timing is the same as the N400 application. I have filed all the letters in the folder (which I am carrying) so I can tell them that I already got the 10 years card. I hope this happens at times, when a lot of activities happen over RoC and N400. Any thoughts from the fellow applicants? -

I got a notification for the naturalization interview. I am trying to find resources for the interview. I downloaded a pdf from the USCIS site with 100 questions in it. Any other references is very appreciated. Thank you. -
November 2022 I-751 Filers

How did you request for combo interview? I finally submitted my N 400 application last night. The estimate says 7 months before any interview schedule. I guess, I need to do the combo request, when I hear about the interview? Thanks for your help. -

I am getting ready to apply for N-400, and I just received an update to my pending I-751. It was about reusing the fingerprints. Some movement after almost 20 months. -
Thank you so much!

I am getting ready to submit my application online. I guess, a cover letter is a good idea and I can name all my files to be uploaded to, Bank*, CreditCard* etc. Any thoughts or inputs fellow Visajourney people? Thanks a lot!

Unemployed while waiting for the ROC
Regdkp replied to Regdkp's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Thank you for your reply. Yes, we have pretty much everything joint, house, car, financials, life insurance policies etc. -
I am currently employed and trying to find a new job. I might run into a situation of temporary unemployment and no health insurance, how does that affect the ROC or the situation? In case someone has experienced something similar, would really appreciate the feedback. My US spouse is already retired, and is on my health insurance, for the last 1.5 year, but we can switch his insurance to 100% on Medicare for the additional coverages, for him. I am just worried that my loss of health insurance or joint health insurance could affect my case. Thanks for your time!

Good to hear from you! If I check status via MyUSCIS, it says unavailable and if I directly check via case status, it still has 'received ' . Also, I am assigned to the YSC, they are the most backlogged office.
