  2. You may either: (1) wait for case FE note from NVC and address it then, or (2) proactively update the I-864 with handwritten signature and date. Note that option 2 will likely reset your submission date, as I-864 is a basic requirement.
  3. For extra peace of mind, you may go through CFO revalidation after getting the K1 visa on hand. You may or may not get the same certificate, maybe with updated issue date. No need to repeat the counseling session.
  4. You will need your Spanish birth certificate (Certificado de Nacimiento) and possibly your adoption document (Sentencia de reconocimiento judicial de adopción) -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Spain.html

  7. Yes, it's possible. But if you're applying for a K1 or immigrant visa, the CFO counselor would be pissed if you schedule your CFO session before getting your visa on hand. They could cancel your scheduled session. That almost happened to me, but I pleaded with the counselor to proceed with the session anyway. We continued with the session, but I was not cleared. I was granted my CFO certificate only after I finally submitted a scan of my immigrant visa. So not much point in scheduling CFO ahead of visa issuance, unless you're in a great rush to travel.
  8. As long as the paper certificate has no "Valid Until" date, she can use it for PH exit immigration. No need to go through CFO revalidation.

  10. *** Moved from US Citizenship Progress Reports to General Discussion *** Are you active-duty US military assigned abroad? The N-600K interview must be conducted in the US, unless the child resides abroad with their USC parent under official military orders. Doesn't matter if the child is too young. Babies are allowed to travel via plane. Temporary US physical presence in lawful status is a basic requirement of the N-600K process, listed on page 1 of the instructions -- https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/n-600kinstr.pdf

  14. Her CFO certificate is expired, so not valid for exit immigration at the airport. Have your fiancee go through the revalidation process. As for info on her rights in the US, the CFO counselor would not have talked about it if the session she attended was for visiting Costa Rica. In any case, the US consulate typically hands out an IMBRA pamphlet to K1 visa applicants at the interview. Also available for download here -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/imbra.html
  15. The CO was correct as far as the actual visa sticker is concerned -- once you get a CR1 visa stuck in your passport, it will not get changed into an IR1 visa, no matter when you travel to the US. BUT, visa is not the same as immigration status or green card. USCIS will determine your status based on your US entry date vs wedding date on the marriage certificate, not whether you have CR1 or IR1 visa in your passport. You will still get IR1 status if you first enter the US with your CR1 visa after your 2nd wedding anniversary. Having IR1 status entitles you to a 10-year green card.

  18. Unless you were ever arrested while in the US, criminal records from the US are not required from you. US immigration agencies have access to the FBI database and will do the background check themselves.
  19. Were you able to get ACRO police certificate?
  20. Does her CFO certificate have a "Valid Until" date at the bottom? If not, no further action required. Her existing certificate will be valid for Philippine exit immigration with her K1 visa. If her CFO certificate is expired, she just needs to get her CFO revalidated to get a new certificate. No need for another counseling session -- https://cfo.gov.ph/re-issuance-revalidation-and-amendment-with-gcp/ (Link may be blocked when accessed from the US. Should be accessible without issue from the Philippines.)

  25. No. Only the I-130/I-130A may be filed online. Not much benefit in doing so, since you have to file the I-485 by mail anyway. Just file them all together in the same package.
