  1. *** Zombie thread from 2013 locked to further comment. Please start a new thread for your question, or check this sub-forum for any recent threads on the topic. ***
  2. Do the IR5 visas have the annotation "IV DOCS IN CCD"? If so, that means the visa case files will be sent electronically, so no need for sealed envelopes to be handed over to CBP at POE.
  3. The medical is valid for 6 months maximum. At the interview, the applicant will likely be asked if they can travel to the US before the medical expiry date. This happened to me, though my medical was still valid for 1.5 months more at the time of interview in Manila. It's also possible for the officer to issue a 221(g), asking the applicant to repeat the medical before their visa can be issued.
  4. *** Moved from K1 Process & Procedures to US Embassy & Consulate Discussion, as the topic is about interview scheduling at a specific consulate ***
  5. Could be suspected for divorce fraud, if USCIS finds out about this. From the USCIS Adjudicator’s Field Manual -- https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/policy-manual-afm/afm21-external.pdf Unmarried does not mean "never married" and a previously married son or daughter under age 21 is a "child." This raises the distinct possibility that someone might engage in divorce fraud in order to qualify for an immigration benefit. As we do not recognize a marriage which is contracted solely to circumvent immigration law, we also do not recognize a divorce which is obtained solely to circumvent immigration law.
  6. *** Removed related thread. Please post your related questions/updates in this thread to keep the discussion in one place. *** For a married couple submitting I-864 & I-864A, proof of relationship would be their marriage certificate. No need for signed statement.
  7. *** Moved from US Citizenship General Discussion to Progress Reports *** Sorry to hear you had a not-so-pleasant experience. Anyway, congratulations on passing the interview!
  8. Yes, for K1 visa applicants, vaccination prior to or at the visa medical is recommended but not required. It will be required when you apply to adjust status in the US. If you go for your AOS medical in the US while you are still pregnant, the civil surgeon will note which of the required vaccines are contraindicated for you because of your pregnancy.
  9. I haven't heard of anyone completing online counseling recently. CFO might be phasing those out now that they're doing face-to-face seminars again.
  10. *** Removed related thread in a different sub-forum. Please post your related questions/updates in this thread to keep the discussion in one place. ***
  11. Currently, there is no quick way for your adult child from Jordan to immigrate, even if you are a US citizen and even if you or she had a life-or-death condition.

  13. You're already at the visa interview stage, so Table A is the relevant section of the visa bulletin in your case. F2B current PD is 22 Sep 2015, based on the Sep 2023 bulletin (assuming you're not from Mexico or the Philippines).
  14. *** Moved from IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures to Student & Exchange Visitor Visas forum ***
  15. You can definitely update the DS-260 -- at the consulate, right before you face the interviewing officer. In many consulates, prior to the interview with the CO, visa applicants present their documents to another consulate staffer and are given a chance to correct or update entries on their DS-260 form. I suggest you do so. Also, make sure to bring documentation from the US court that you paid the fines and the cases against you were dismissed.
  16. *** Moved from Bringing Family of USC forum to the South America regional forum, for Brazil-specific input *** Current wait time from DQ to IL at RDJ seems to be around 1 to 2 months. Check @Troy B and others' reports in the thread below --
  17. *** Moved from Bringing Family of USC forum to the Carribean regional forum -- topic is about parole program specifically for Cuban beneficiaries ***
  18. *** Moved from Bringing Family of USC forum to Working & Traveling During US Immigration -- topic is about endorsed IV and international travel ***
  19. *** Moved from IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures to What Visa Do I Need -- OP is considering visa options for spouse ***
  20. *** Moved from IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures to the ANZ regional forum, where similar topics about getting Australian police certificate are discussed ***
  21. Depends on the consulate. In my case, processed through Manila, they emailed me the immigrant fee instructions around the same time my visa was delivered.
