  2. *** Removed hijack post already posted in another thread ***
  3. Put the K1 info. They'll know about the ESTA anyway, because there's still that DS-260 question about US visits, right?
  4. *** Moved from Tourist Visas forum to US Embassy & Consulate Discussion, and removed three duplicate posts. Please do not post the same question across multiple threads, as that is considered spamming. Post your related questions in this thread to keep the discussion in one place. ***

  10. That post you linked is about Diversity Visa processed through KCC. Their process is different from spouse visas processed through NVC. Once your case is assigned an NVC case number, contact NVC via their public inquiry form, to request case transfer.
  11. We understand that you are frustrated with all the waiting. But please be aware that Pakistani applicants are not being singled out for punishment with DS-5535. It's not only in ISL that these are being given out. One of the most active threads here on VJ is about DS-5535 at Montreal, with hundreds of pages since 2021. Yes, even white Canadians, born and raised, never left Canada, may be issued DS-5535. Many of the regulars in that thread had to wait a year or longer after interview, and/or even had to sue the consulate, for action to be taken on their visa cases.
  12. I just learned after moving here that Louisiana has huge rats called nutria. We were driving by a vacant lot one day -- MrChancy: "That's the field where I saw a lot of rats." Chancy: "How could you have seen them small critters while driving?" MrChancy: "Well, they're around 10 to 20 lbs big..." Chancy: 😲

  14. Tru dat. I see roadkill every week on the highway beside the school in our neighborhood. Close. It's "Feed Your Soul. With Daiquiris. There's a Bar in Every Street Corner."
  15. Not required. The I-134 is just concerned about whether your income/assets come from any illegal activity. No need to worry about that section if your income/assets are all legit.
  16. From the embassy's published checklist, neither ID is required for the visa interview -- https://tr.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/pre-interview-checklist/ Hopefully, other members who went through Ankara can confirm or share their experiences. Bring both IDs anyway, in case the interviewing officer asks. You may also submit a copy of the Turkish ID to NVC, as supporting evidence to get in the interview queue for Turkish residents, rather than the one for Iranian applicants on a visit. From reports here from others pending interview at Ankara, it seems the consulate prioritizes Turkish residents for interview scheduling.
  17. Saw a video recently about our suburb. The YouTuber said the top reason to move here is the great schools. Then he went on and on about the schools' track and football fields. Nothing about graduation rates or student test scores. So the schools here are great because they have fancy sports facilities??? 🤦‍♀️
  18. *** Hijack post & replies split off to its own thread. Please post questions/updates about your own case in this thread. ***

  20. Perhaps the DS-260 questions have changed since I filled it out. On my DS-260, the relevant questions were -- Provide information on your last five US visits. -- List all visits, whether with ESTA or visa entry. Have you ever been issued a US visa? -- In your case, provide the K1 info, not the ESTA.
  21. Once the beneficiary enters the US with their immigrant visa, no further vaccination is required for US immigration purposes. Note also that the visa plus the CBP entry stamp serves as a green card for 1 year from US entry, equivalent to the plastic green card for all legal purposes. So the beneficiary actually gets a GC from day 1. As for the plastic GC, just need to pay the $220 immigrant fee and wait for delivery.
  22. Here's another mega-thread with other people's experiences on the topic --
  23. *** Moved from DCF forum to Waivers & Administrative Processes forum, where similar topics are discussed ***
