  1. Immigrant visas for applicants in UAE are processed only at the consulate in Abu Dhabi. No IV processing in Dubai. What is your visa category?
  2. *** Moved from Bringing Family of USC forum to IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures, where topics about I-130 for spouse of USC are discussed ***
  3. *** Moved from K1 Process & Procedures to the UK regional forum, for consulate-specific input *** You may submit your DS-160 when your CEAC case status turns "Ready". Then schedule your visa medical and interview. You will need your police certificate for your medical in London, but not before submitting DS-160.
  4. *** Merged related threads. Please post your questions/updates related to visa medical and interview booking process in this thread to keep the discussion in one place. ***
  5. SLEC will send the report directly to USEM. SLEC also used to provide a copy of the vaccination worksheet to the applicant for their personal records. No need to submit this personal copy to USEM. SLEC may have stopped automatically giving copies during COVID time, but they will still provide it if the applicant asks. I strongly recommend the applicant ask for it, especially for K1 cases, as the vaccination worksheet copy could save you from having to repeat the medical in the US.
  6. Less than 2 weeks is ok, just not too close to the interview. I'd say 3 days before the interview should be the latest, if you really can't schedule it sooner. The risk with having the medical too close to the interview is that SLEC might not send the medical report to the US embassy in time for the interview. And USEM will not allow the applicant to interview if the completed medical is not already reported in their system. As in, the applicant will be told to go home and re-schedule their interview if they show up at USEM before SLEC reports their medical as completed.
  7. Maybe emotionally, it might be important to your wife. But for (most of) the US government, it's not and it could be illegal if you sign the wrong paperwork, like what happened in the case referenced above by @Verrou. As others mentioned, if you were already legally married in the Philippines, then the US also recognizes your marriage as legal. If having a US-issued certificate is what your wife wants, then look into vow renewals (as @Loren Y suggested) or foreign marriage registration. Other than Nevada, New Jersey and Colorado issue official certificates for such cases. Colorado, in particular, allows "re-marriage" as the Colorado DMV does not accept foreign marriage certificates as legal name change documents! Check the links below for more info -- New Jersey ("reaffirm your relationship/vows by registering a remarriage") -- https://www.nj.gov/health/vital/registration-vital/marriage-licenses/#6 Colorado -- https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/761702-changing-last-name-after-immigration-of-spouse/?do=findComment&comment=10580622
  8. *** Moved from Bringing Family of USC forum to Bringing Family of LPR forum -- petitioner is still an LPR ***
  9. If you will be interviewing in Canada, as your VJ profile indicates, current wait time estimate is 2 to 3 months from DQ to IL. Check the thread below for updates from others pending interview at Montreal --
  10. *** Moved from AOS from K1 Visas forum to IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures ***
  11. *** Moved from K1 Process & Procedures to Working & Traveling During US Immigration -- topic is about international travel prior to US entry with K1 visa *** CBP would not care where she travels before US entry.
  12. *** Merged another related thread. Please post your questions/updates related to your brother's case in this thread to keep the discussion in one place. ***
  13. Did you get an email and a CEAC inbox message with the words "Documentarily Qualified" (DQ)? Is your wife a US citizen?
  14. OP may certainly apply, but there's definitely a question about having a criminal record on the DS-160 -- "Have you ever been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime, even though subject of a pardon, amnesty, or other similar action?" under the section on Security & Background Information. OP must disclose on the DS-160 that they were charged with a crime.
  15. *** Moved from IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures to Moving to the US and Your New Life In America forum -- OP is done with the visa process, now waiting for GC production in the US *** Check the threads below --
  16. *** Moved from Bringing Family of LPR forum to NVC forum, to be among other threads about system issues with CEAC portal *** Your financial support documents should have been uploaded through the links on the row for "Joint Sponsor". Contact NVC through their public inquiry form, to request for clarification or assistance with your uploaded documents -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html
  17. Looks like you need to re-read what @carmel34 said. They did DCF. Unless OP is confused about their own process and posted in the wrong forum, this case is not DCF. Yes, first-hand experience is valuable. I actually went through this CR1/IR1 process myself. So I suppose that makes what I said above super valuable, huh.
  18. Yes, there are exceptions, but having a job offer is not one of them. The FAQ item you referenced even says that job offers are not recognized in place of I-864 and do not meet any I-864 requirement. As for the OP's case in 2019, either we're not getting the full story about their previous I-864, or the consulate made a mistake in issuing the visa. It happens. But not a good idea to rely on that happening again.
  19. *** Merged another related thread. Please post your questions/updates related to the issuance/delivery of your friend's plastic GC in this thread to keep the discussion in one place. ***
  20. Looks like your efforts paid off and saved you from filing that I-824. Please do update us when you get the NVC welcome letter and account creation info, so we can congratulate you for reals.
  21. That's a good sign. Wait for the NVC welcome letter before you celebrate.
  22. *** Removed post containing FB link. Please do not post on the public forums any FB links advertising your 3rd-party groups or sites. ***
  23. For family emergencies like this, there is the emergency passport option from US consulates, assuming the USC's other nationality passport is still valid for travel out of the US. The consulate staff will be annoyed that the USC left without a US passport, but they will issue the emergency (limited-validity) passport anyway. Original certificate of naturalization must be presented to the consulate.
  24. For the I-864, you must list your federal income tax return figures from the 3 most recent tax years, and your current annual income. No need to list your income from the years before that.
