Finally convinced MrChancy to go to Golden Corral with me last weekend. He was reluctant, but I had been really curious about those steaks that people fight over -- https://www.today.com/food/news/golden-corral-fight-rcna14500 It was ok, but I don't think I'd go back there again. Also, there was no steak. Thankfully, there was no brawl (this time).

DL renewal & Save Check issues
Chancy replied to ghostinthemachine's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
IIRC, @Verrou had similar issues with SAVE Check not pulling up up-to-date info. -

Confusion Creating Login for CEAC - K-1 Visa Applicant
Chancy replied to TXMan322's topic in Philippines
One of the skills you have to learn as a husband-to-be of a Filipina is how to deal with FB-induced anxiety from reading about other cases and rumors in Filipino FB groups 😆 Support group with other Fil-Am couples here, in case you need it -- https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/ [EDIT] Actually, I should have moved your thread sooner... 😅 *** Moved from K1 Process & Procedures to the Philippine regional forum, for country-specific input ***- 12 replies

Yes, free -- "There is no fee for Form I-129F petitions for classification of an alien as a spouse of a United States citizen." https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-129finstr.pdf Make sure to check the correct box for "Spouse (K-3 visa)" classification, and include a copy of your I-130 receipt notice in your I-129F package. Also, as mentioned above, there's no guarantee that filing the I-129F will work to nudge your I-130 case, but again, it won't hurt your case. I suggest you file the I-129F if the consulate denies your DCF request.

Tourist visa appointments for Russians via Kazakhstan
Chancy replied to millefleur's topic in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus
Not impossible, but very unlikely. You won't know for sure until the interview. Have you already booked the B visa appointment in Almaty? -
I can relate to the frustration of having your expedite request denied. Ours was denied too, despite submitting pages of evidence. Another option you can try is to file I-129F, if you haven't already done so. There's no filing fee for I-129F for K3 spouse. The I-129F K3 will almost certainly be closed, but many VJ members reported that filing I-129F may have triggered their I-130 to be reviewed and approved faster.

I won't hurt to request the consulate to accept your case for DCF, while disclosing that you have a pending I-130 already with USCIS. Even if the consulate denies your DCF request, it won't harm your existing case, as long as you answer the consulate's questions truthfully. Same with requesting an expedite with USCIS instead -- it won't hurt your case to ask, even if they deny your request.

AP for DS-5535/Waiver
Chancy replied to Sunshine22's topic in Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)
They're just being technical about it. I-601 is "Application for Waiver", while I-212 is "Application for Permission to Reapply". File the I-212. -
Unless your daughter is still a minor, you or your wife will likely not be accommodated by USCIS if you call the hotline about her I-131 application. I suggest your daughter try the "Ask Emma" chat feature instead, to request that a PDF copy of the I-131 receipt notice be emailed to her. She may also ask about the status of her application, but I doubt she will get any useful info, aside from what you can look up yourself through the online case check.

*** Moved from IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures to Tax & Finances During US Immigration, where similar topics about tax filing for USC abroad are discussed *** You are a US citizen, not an alien. Do not use form 1040NR. Also, 1040NR-EZ is now obsolete. I recommend consulting a more competent tax professional, with lots of experience with USC international taxpayers -- https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/us-citizens-and-resident-aliens-abroad

If your wife has not interviewed yet, there's no need to send an AR-11 or I-865 form to USCIS nor the consulate. To update your address, do the following -- Fill out an I-864 form (not I-865) with your new address info. You may need to update your financial info as well. Make sure to sign and date the form properly. Scan the updated I-864 form and upload to the section for "Additional AOS Supporting Documentation" on CEAC. Email the I-864 scan to your wife. I recommend you also paper-mail the updated I-864 form to her, so she can bring it to her visa interview. On the day of your wife's interview, she should request the consulate staff for assistance to update her DS-260 form with your new address info. When your wife flies in to the US with her spouse visa, she should provide your new address info to the inspecting CBP officer at POE. She should make sure to volunteer the info in case she is not asked. No need to do steps 1-3 within 30 days of your move. I suggest you wait until your wife gets her interview schedule so your new I-864 will have the most updated financial info at the time. You may as well upload your latest financials documents then, as there's a good chance you will be required to provide your 2023 tax documents by the time of your wife's interview. If you ever change addresses again after your wife enters the US with her spouse visa, then you will need to submit I-865 to USCIS within 30 days of moving.
