  1. Have you and your spouse completed the NVC stage yet? If so, has your spouse completed the visa interview yet? No visa will be issued until after the interview.

  3. *** Moved from IR1/CR1 Progress Reports to IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures *** NVC says you are not required to pay the AOS fee, but I don't know how you can bypass the AOS fee payment step to be able to upload the I-864W. Best to ask NVC directly -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html From the NVC Fee Payment FAQs -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-3-pay-fees/nvc-fee-payment-faqs.html#fee9A Who is not required to pay the AOS fee? If you are not required to submit an Affidavit of Support form, you do not need to pay an AOS fee. For a list of scenarios that do not need to submit an Affidavit of Support form and do not need to pay an AOS fee, please visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos. The most common exemptions are for applicants with 40 quarters of creditable employment under the SSA and for applicants who will immediately gain U.S. citizenship upon entry to the U.S. under the Child Citizenship Act of 2000.

  5. Do NOT re-schedule your interview. USCIS will only take your GC at the oath ceremony, whether it is held on the same day as your interview or some other day. So advise the interviewing officer of your upcoming travel plans and request that you be scheduled for oath-taking only after you return from your trip.
  6. Then they will have their interview at the consulate in Montreal. If they do not live in or near Montreal, add travel costs to your list.
  7. Incidental expenses, like for travel to the medical & consulate, for acquiring civil documents, for getting vaccinations. In which country do your beneficiaries live?

  10. Just to minimize the risk that your husband gets to the US before you do, in case you both set out at the same time but your flight gets delayed.
  11. No problem as long as you arrive in the US before your husband does. Best if he drives in at least a day after your return to the US.
  12. You should worry about it because if your child is born a US citizen, you must get his/her CRBA while you are in Nigeria.

  14. Because the file is too big, just like the error message says. Compress the PDF, or re-scan at a lower resolution.
  15. Not true. No need to worry about this. On the day of the visa interview, just update the DS-260 info about other citizenships/nationalities, also other passports if your wife gets a Russian passport. Make sure to volunteer this new information to the document checker prior to the interview or to the interviewing officer at the consulate. You will need to contact the consulate at Yerevan directly to request for case transfer. Chances are low that they will accept, given that your wife is just a tourist in Armenia and not a legal resident, but it wouldn't hurt her visa case to ask. From the Yerevan Visa Unit's visa navigator -- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeTZcspb88FJZ1LE5QlHFqqc8TtAnrdR70K5BYbaqCs7uFfpw/viewform IV - Transfer of Immigrant Visa case TRANSFERS FOR RESIDENTS OF ARMENIA ONLY At this time, Embassy Yerevan will only consider transfer cases for applicants who legally and physically reside in Armenia. Please contact NVC to consider your transfer request. By the way, no US consulates in Russia currently process immigrant visas. Russians must go to Warsaw in Poland for their visa interview, or beg another consulate to accept their case.

  17. *** Moved from AOS from K1 Visas forum to Working & Traveling During US Immigration, to be among other threads about emergency AP *** Why would it cost $50 a page? Is your wife not fluent in English? She can just translate the documents herself. For all translated documents, USCIS would want to see a certification by the translator, as per --

  22. No. The requirement is for the petitioning spouse to be in the US before or to travel with the immigrant.
  23. *** Moved from IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures to AOS from Work/Student/Tourist Visas forum *** Key point is that your wife is a USC and submitted sufficient proof of her US citizenship with the I-130. Whether she derived citizenship or naturalized makes little difference as far as petitioning a spouse is concerned. You won't lose everything over this typo. Just correct that item in the I-130 at your AOS interview.
