  3. After your mother enters the US with her IR5 visa, she will need to file a petition for her husband to start the F2A visa process. If she wants to wait with her husband in their home country, she should also apply for a re-entry permit before leaving the US.
  4. *** Moved from IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures to IR1/CR1 Progress Reports -- topic is about processing estimates ***
  5. You're right -- I forgot about the I-485 route for Cubans only. That said, filing I-130 with I-485 would mean your in-laws do not need to wait some minimum period to adjust status. I-130 starts a family-based immigration process available to all regardless of nationality, whether the applicant will be adjusting status while in the US or pursuing an immigrant visa while residing abroad. Filing I-130 will not conflict with I-134A processing for your in-laws. So my recommendation hasn't changed -- file I-134A first to get them in the US asap, then file I-130 + I-485 immediately after they enter the US (no need to wait 1 year).
  6. As far as USCIS is concerned, no problem with having both in process for your in-laws at the same time. File I-134A first to get them in the US asap, then file I-130 + I-485 after they enter the US. I-130 will be required no matter what, if they intend to live in the US long-term.

  8. *** Moved from K1 Progress Reports to K1 Process & Procedures *** Just need one I-129F (and one filing fee) for the mother, listing her children in the appropriate section of the petition. DHS does not need to know that you want all three to come over at the same time, but DOS will need to know. So after DHS approves the I-129F and sends it to the consulate, your fiancee and her kids will need to submit a DS-160 form for each, and pay the MRV fee for each as well.

  12. He needs a police certificate from each country he resided in for a long period, following the format and issued by the government agency specified on the DOS Reciprocity site. For example, the only acceptable police certificate from the UK is from ACRO -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/UnitedKingdom.html
  13. Because having a US citizen adult child is a very strong tie to the US -- a big negative for someone who needs to convince the interviewing officer that they only want to visit the US, not live there.
  14. If the case was expedited, then the US embassy in Manila typically expects the applicant to self-schedule their interview via the USTravelDocs portal once CEAC case status turns "Ready". Check the thread below for details --
  15. Typically, the consulate automatically extends the validity of the I-129F approval for up to a year. No action required from you. For your peace of mind, you may contact NVC or the consulate directly to request an extension, so you will have an email trail.
  16. Added thread for Bogota, Colombia Will do, when I find a thread with recent info about wait times at those consulates.
  17. The thread below might interest you. The discussion is mainly about N-400 cases, but the post gives some insight on how USCIS operates in general --

  19. Contact USEM via -- https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visa-inquiry-form/ It might take a while for them to respond (maybe a week or so), but from my experience, they do reply to all inquiries/requests.

  22. It won't hurt your case to upload additional bona fide relationship evidence to CEAC after getting DQ. I uploaded ours under the additional documents section on the Civil Documents tab. Bring the hard-copy documents to the interview as well.
