  1. No harm trying for DCF. The worst that can happen is that your DCF request is denied and your spouse will have to go through the normal spouse visa process like most people do.
  2. Studying without EAD is ok; working without EAD is not. If you want legal immigration advice about that, VJ would not be the right place to ask as the TOS and the disclaimer below prohibits anyone from claiming that any advice given here is legal advice. Consult an actual immigration lawyer. As for actual experience, maybe @Sarah&Facundo or @Rocio0010 has input on CPT/OPT/work without EAD/GC.

  9. Immediate green card, with authorization to work, might convince you that CR1 is very much worth it. There are many, many posts here on VJ from people wailing about not being able to work or travel freely while waiting for their work/travel permit or GC. Reading them reminds me every time how grateful I am that I don't have to deal with all that stress because we chose the spouse visa route.
  10. *** Moved from Off Topic to Site-Related Discussion *** Just the I-130. No calculation for the interview wait time estimate, as that depends on the specific consulate's backlog.

  15. Do you have a photocopy of the I-129F you submitted? Are you sure you correctly filled out the I-129F section below? That RFIE seems to indicate that your I-129F was filed for K3 spouse, not K1 fiance.
  16. Only for K1 applicants in the Philippines. SLEC is the only accredited clinic for visa medicals.

  20. No need to apologize. This level of caution is necessary. As others already mentioned, claiming to be a US citizen on any form is a cardinal sin for an LPR. So it is very prudent of you to ask about it.
