Hi, how did you contact USCIS? I received FR since September 2020 , but I have not received any update from USCIS (not even a case number), how do I reach them, please

Sorry for the late reply. I have contacted USCIS and gotten no outcome. After all I have spoken to a local congressperson and USCIS ombudsman, then received a copy of approval.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Thank you! It’s really nice of you to contribute to the community even after long time you finished the journey. Kudos to you!!

It takes 30-40 days from NOA2/USCIS to the NVC and then another 5-10 business days before a case number is available. "your mileage may vary" As I see it, you're too early to be concerned as you just past the 30-day mark from your NOA2.  Get the PDF from the first page first post and you will know more.

If you complete your profile we can help you!!

Have completed my profile :) was looking at the first page PDF wondering if you have South Korea Packet 3? Thank you in advance!

I have never received my approval notice by USCIS in my mail. When requested online, USCIS asked me to file I-824 with fee. Did any one face such situation? If so, how long does it take to get the duplicated waiver from USCIS. Can I attend the H1-B visa interview with just the print screen of approval?

I am in the same situation now. My approval never arrived and USCIS told me to file I-824 with $465 fee. Did you end up filing it? if so, how long did it take to get a duplicate? It would be very much helpful if you could share your situation a bit. I can’t find much information on this.

  5. So to share my experience with anybody in the same boat, I got FR sent on July 27th but haven’t gotten any notice or approval mailed even until now. I believe it was because I put my home country address instead of the US one since I’m already out of country. I contacted USCIS yesterday and managed to get my case number. it was already approved on 14th, August. The operator confirmed I could obtain another copy if it never arrives but the inquiry should be made after 30 days of approval. I’m waiting for 14th, September to claim the new copy.

I do not have a personal experience with this but USCIS is sending the letters also outside the US. My colleague is from Spain he also filled for waiver several years back. That time, his J1 visa expired earlier than his waiver was approved and for that reason he went back to Spain. He received the USCIS approval to his Spain address (he did change of address from US to Spain one once his J1 expired). However, the letter was very late. I guess it make sense that it will take more time to receive the letter in foreign country compared to people in the US. Hope that you will receive your letter soon! Maybe you can try to call USCIS and ask them if your name is in the system and to confirm with them that they sent in.

Thank you very much for sharing! It’s much relieving to hear. Guess I should wait for longer than the usual time.

I received it to my US address.

I have put my home country address in two self-addressed envelope since I was already outside the US and seeking for K-1 visa. I am starting to think the decision i made was a mistake. Do USCIS or DOS only send their documents to US address? I have been searching for relevant information online on this matter but no luck.

Hi, I finally received USCIS recipient notice in the mail after I got my FR from DOS on July 28. When I checked the Recipient number on the website, I found out that my waiver was already approved by USCIS. Received date was 08/06/2020 and the approval date was 08/07/2020. I still did not received the DOS approval letter in the mail. Good luck to you and to everybody here!

Did you received it to your home country address or US one?
