  1. Yes I tried applying for a social and they told me that they would only give me one after his i-485 or i-765 was approved which we sent both with our AOS packet he did biometrics back in August but we are still waiting 😕
  2. Is there a legal way to claim my step son K2 who does not have a social since USCIS is taking their sweet time. We filed AOS for both my wife and step son June 2023. My wife has her EAD but not green card yet my step son has nothing his application just says its being reviewed by uscis. So we tax season being upon us he does have a social so I was just wondering what options I have if any.
  3. ok thank you and yes its my employer HR hounding me lol.
  4. Hello All, My wife entered via a K1 and her 7yr son as a K2. We filed the AOS process and and i was told that the minor while he wouldn't be working would need to file the i-765 along with the i-485. We filed both for my wife and step son as of right now my wife has received her EAD card with AP. Her son has yet to receive anything and we filed for both at the end of June. My question is do we go to the SSN local office and apply for a SSN for my step son or is that automatically done once his Green card is approved because i do i recall the SSN request being a question on the i-485 form. Also asking because my health insurance policy will start nagging me about it and soon we will be in tax season.
  5. Hello all, So there was an oversight on the AOS packet for my step son. We filled out all the forms but missed the applicant signature on the i-765 for the minor child. Uscis has rejected the application and sent it back to us. Now my question is do we have to print a new copy or can we just sign the one that was rejected and mail it back. See the attached image.
  6. That's what I don't know yet. I'm waiting until the NOA letter arrives in the mail.
  7. Yes I did. The weird part is when I got the NOA case numbers I got the following 2 i485 2 i131 But only 1 i765 and I'm certain I sent both.
  8. Hello all, I sent off the AOS packet for my now Wife and her son. My wife does have a social but I was told that the K2 could not get a SSN until after the AOS process was approved. Is this true
  9. Yes I know the passports are not. What I am saying that there is no way to know if all the documents are in the one envelope like they are claiming. Granted this is not my case because in my case my fiancé status changed to issued yesterday but the K2 says application received 🙄 so we are still waiting. I was asking the question about the sealed envelope for a friend who I have met through the process and asked me because she was under the same assumption as me that it was 1 envelope per person.
  10. Yes they started processing visas back in in May and then later announced that early 2023 they would begin processing all categories and they have done just that starting Jan 4th 2023 but it has been complete chaos.
  11. I know it's just that there has been much disorganization that it's not even funny I won't even begin the half of it. This is the US embassy in Havana Cuba 🙄. I guess the real question is can they deny entry if the documents are not in that 1 envelope 🤔
  12. So my understanding is that once the k1 visa issued you get your passport back and along with a sealed envelope which is opened by border patrol on POE. Do you trust the embassy if they say that both the K1 and K2 documents are in the same sealed envelope instead of individually. Only asking because since it cannot be opened you have no way to confirm 😕
  13. Hello All, God willing my fiancé and her son will be coming to the USA next week and I have a few questions. 1. Upon entry since I will be flying back with them can I go through the visitor line after landing or do I have to go separately through the US citizen line? 2. Is there any kind of documentation that they will receive upon entry after turning in the famously seal yellow envelope? 3. I have also heard that the k1 beneficiary should apply for SSN atleast 3 days after entry before getting married. Thanks in advance
  14. The CO said once the medical exam is turned in visa issued and usually ready between 6-10 days.
