Not sure if this was discussed but as of today 2022 tax docs are required. I know someone who was DQd in 2021 and interviewed today and was asked for the 2022 taxes.
Oh wow thanks. Our interview is May 3rd. I have to get the 2022 transcripts before then and upload them or can I just bring them to interview? Also was your friend approved?

You can bring either copies of the US passport or US birth certifcate as proof of the sponsor's citizenship. Originals are not required for these documents.
The applicant needs to bring originals and copies of their passport, birth certificate and marriage certificate.
Thank you! 🙏🏾

Yes. For interviews after April 15, the most recent tax return is 2022
Sorry to bother you again. I was reading through some threads and saw something about uploading a new I864 with supporting documents for the current year is this the case?
Also Do I need to get a new police certificate as well it’s a year old? -

Wow, it might be a case of huge backlogs and long waits for appointments. Please may I ask which US consulate is it?

Congratulations for the interview date. Please how long does it take you from being documentarily qualified to the scheduled of your interview date?
Thank you! I was DQ’d on May 26th 2022. Received my interview date March 16th 2023. So about 10 months.

The medical report is only valid for 6 months. Both the visa and medical must be valid when you enter the US. So, if your medical is 2 months old when you have your interview, this will usually be reflected in the visa expiry date being 2 months less than the possible 6 month expiry. Depending in your intended timing for entry to the US, this may create a problem if you were needing 5-6 months to get ready to move. Most of us tried to get the medical as close a possible to the interview date, but early enough to ensure it was available for the interview
Thank you for responding. This helps a lot. I will Try and schedule about two weeks out if available to avoid any issues.
Oh another question.Should I bring tax transcript from 2022? I only submitted 2019, 20, and 21 to NVC last year.

Hi all. I just received my interview date today for May 3 2023. I was wondering what’s the earliest I can have the exam done? I searched but didn’t really see any specific time frames. Hope you guys can help me out.

You do see the word "optional" above that section, right? Answer to your question is NO, but it may still be a good idea to do so, if you have any significant liquid assets.
Thank you!

Am I (principal sponsor) required to fill out section 7 : Use of Assets on I864 form when I’m using a joint sponsor? I’m not working but I do have some savings. Do I still have to provide bank account info if I have joint sponsor?
-
Thank you guys for your help! One more question. Do I need to fill part 7 (Use of Assets to supplement income) if I have a joint sponsor? Such as my bank account information. Do I need to disclose that information still?

Hi, a few questions for anyone that can assist.
1. I am the beneficiary for my 17 year old daughters Social Security. Is this considered of MY individual income?
Im not using any household members for added income I will be using a joint sponsor.
2. Next , should I submit 2021 tax transcripts/ tax return or should I wait and submit 2022 since it say current tax year ? -
-
I’ve been reading through forums and I’m still not clear on what to submit for the I846. I will have a joint sponsor. I’m currently not working. I know we both submit the same information but this tax talk is confusing me. so the question I have is
1. Do we both submit 3 years of transcripts along with a current W2or do we submit current year W2 along with paystubs?
2. What’s the most effective way?

age of mother is important

job income, retirement, or social security for instance
mother , if tax returns are as MFJ may have to have 1864a filled out by husband
so, ask them
Thank you here is the break down.
my mom is 63 she still works. She files her taxes separately from her husband. Would her and her husband still have to submit I864A and would the income requirement be for 3 people ie. my husband, my mom and her husband? -

I would ask the person who is more qualified (current income). Yes, as the primary sponsor, you must submit an I-864 with tax info and supporting documentation.
Thanks Crazy Cat but when you say more qualified do you mean the person that meets the income requirements? If so They both do. I Was wondering if chances were better mom vs. brother. Or if it matters at all?

Hello all. I just wanted to share with everyone that our I130 was approved and we are moving on to the NVC stage after approximately 8 months of waiting patiently. Now I have a few questions. I’m not working at this moment so I would need to have a joint sponsor. Question is should I use my mother who is married with no dependents or my brother who is single with no dependents? Any advice would be greater appreciated. Oh and do I need to submits my financial information as well when I use a joint sponsor?

Hello everyone. I have 2 questions I finally submitted my I-130 petition online on 05/03/2021. I received my NOA1 today by Mail 05/08/2021. What date do I use for my timeline- the received date on the notice or the date I actually received it? Next is when I submitted my petition the service center said Nebraska on bottom of the NOA1 gives me Texas Service center. Does this mean it was transferred to Texas?

Hello everyone. I’ve seen a few different responses regarding the 2x2 photo that we are supposed to submit. I’m live in US and spouse lives overseas. Do we submit photos for both of us? And does the photos have to absolutely have to have names printed on the back?

Hello all.
My husband were just married last month he lives overseas and I live in USA. We are now in the process of collecting documents/evidence to file the I-130 form but are debating if we should file by mail or online. If anyone can help I just have a few questions that may help make this process a tiny bit easier (if possible) so here gos!
These questions are referring to Online Filing.
1. Do I sign I-130a for husband not living in USA?2. Does overseas spouse need 2 passport size photo submitted with I -130 form or are they only needed for interview phase?3. Do photos have to be named and dated on the back?4. Can you upload photos directly from your cell phone without being scanned?5. What documents need to be scanned on both sides?6. Do all documents need to be in PDF. Format?7. Which documents need to be notarized?
8. Do I still need to submit a cover letter?
Any other helpful information is much appreciated!Thank you! I appreciate you responding. This helps a lot.

130 a can be left blank. It state in the instructions at the top of the form. If spouse lives overseas it doesn’t need to be signed.
Passport size pictures are needed
Photo it would be nice to give a brief description.
Notarizing is not required
Cover letter is helpful. It’s a lot of sample if you google it that’s where I got mine and edited it.
I’m not sure about the online I mailed mine in.
Thank you for the information!
