  1. Yes, a resident permit is definitely needed for a transfer to Sierra Leone. You can fly there to get it done. Thanks.
  2. Thank you so much. I hope your issues have been resolved.
  3. Our immigrant visa got approved today. What a journey it's been!
  4. We now have an interview date in Sierra Leone slated for 21st August.
  5. Congratulations on your visa approval. I heard the medical result is now sent to them electronically. So by the time you get there, they'll have it in their system.
  6. Contact your congressman immediately to find out what's holding up your case.
  7. Congratulations! Start getting your documents ready for NVC. Wishing you the best of luck.
  8. Congratulations. Start gathering the necessary documents for NVC asap.
  9. Congratulations to you. You've closed the distance between you two finally.
  10. The thing is, whether paper or online, everything ends up online. So the choice is yours. Hope you've a smooth USCIS process.
  11. You're not cursed friend. It's just one of those many hiccups in the immigration journey. I pray your DQ comes soon.
  12. I thought you didn't want to be added to the stats here, lol. Better late than never though, lol...You're welcome.
  13. Clearly an error. No need arguing over this. Just contact NVC/embassy for this to be rectified.
  14. The welcome letter's via email, and copies will be sent to you both. NVC is currently taking two weeks averagely to process cases.
  15. That's not the most important. Focus on what NVC needs from you once USCIS sends your case to them. It takes just a couple of days to get your welcome letter from NVC after they receive your case. In the meantime, find the April group for NVC filers and familiarize yourself with the documents you would need. Wishing you all the best.
  16. It does. Because you want to know whether the initial evidence you submitted to USCIS will be on the desk of the CO on your day of interview.
  17. So given that the USCIS now processes cases electronically and some of us still filing applications non-electronically. Would the USCIS still send the physical file to NVC onwards to the embassies like we know they do sometime past?
  18. It changes to "in transit" when the file's on its way to the embassy. NVC would by then have already notified you with an interview letter.
  19. Usually from what I know, NVC sends you an appointment letter first with instructions as to what documents to carry, date and time of interview as well. The case in transit simply means it's on its way to the embassy. I wish you could join a group of people interviewing at your embassy. That way, you'll get firsthand info as to how things go there. Hope this helps.
