  1. I appreciate it. It's odd because we were told several weeks ago that it was outside of normal processing time and we could submit another inquiry to be able to speak to a supervisor. Then the last time we checked, it's again within normal processing time; just weird. My family and I moved ten minutes up the road, so it went from the Miami to the Olden Park office. I'm not sure what the correct thing to do was; stay in an an area with crime and drugs? We're going to stay in our current place until she has her GC, so another renewal on the lease. I'm going to file an FOIA for her case to see what's going on, and continue to wait.
  2. What is a WoM Thanks for the answers. Yes, we did an address change, within a few days of moving, to our current address. One agent at USCIS was hinting that the move we did has delayed the process, and our case has moved to a different office, but others have said it hasn't. We're thinking of hiring an attorney, because we'd like for her to get the GC after three years. I understand that they probably can't do anything, but I'd like to know what we did wrong and how to fix it (refile) since USCIS isn't telling us. She's has friends that started at the same time, who've had the GC for two years. She isn't working, and hasn't been able to get anything because no one hasn't been wanting to hire her without the GC, just our experience. Do you know that if and when she gets it, will it be a permanent or will it be the two year GC? That's correct, we're in Florida. No mail has been missed, when we check the case status it's still pending. USCIS is saying that illegals and refugees now have the priority.
  3. So my wife is STILL waiting for her AOS, (we filed in 12/2021), now her I-765 (Employment Authorization) and I-131 (Advanced Parole) will expire in December. Does anyone have any advice for the renewal of both of them? We don't know how to do the renewal, haven't seen any forms online for it, unless it's the same ones we used initially. Is travel still doable before the Advance Parole expires? We are thinking at the end of November. My wife has contacted USCIS nearly every other week, and told to keep waiting. It went from being outside of normal processing time, but now it's not. We recently contacted the congressman in my area, but again told to "keep waiting". When we initially filed, I listed a parent's address (who lives in another state) because mail at my place was being stolen, then this January 2024, we moved twenty-minutes north because the crime in the apartment complex was getting to be too much, (shootings and drug dealing) so with a young kid and a baby on the way, we decided to move to a safer area. My wife and son went about every six months to see her family in Colombia (they don't have visas for the US) and we recently took a vacation to Europe. As much as I despise lawyers and try to avoid them at all costs, I'm giving serious thought to go see one about this case. Nearly three years later, and still waiting, it's BS at this point. I don't know what else to do. The address and necessary move might have been the delaying factors for us. My wife would like to work and study but can't without the Green Card.
  4. We have no idea where her mom is on her journey, we're not in communication with her, neither are the aunt and uncle, who don't don't get along with the mom either.
  5. First of all, I'm not trying to circumvent anything, our motives are legitimate, everything has been done truthfully. Secondly, you don't have the complete picture of the situation based upon two posts. I asked for advice on my situation, not opinions about our motives. A simple "no, it can't happen", or a "yes it can happen, but this is what's necessary to do..." would suffice. If it can't happen, so be it, we'll come up with an alternative plan. If nothing else, she will go down there before the due date, so she has some support, and we'll do a birth abroad through the embassy like we did with our first kid. I despise people who circumvent the system, I'm an immigrant myself, as is my wife. We both have been through the system, and it's been a long, expensive and complicated ordeal; we started this in 2019. My wife hasn't had an interview for her green card, even though we applied AOS nearly two years ago, while refugees and illegals are being given priority over others, so spare me with the accusations. Thank you for the good response.
  6. Her aunt is her mom's sister. My wife and her mom don't really have a relationship, the aunt and uncle raised her.
  7. My wife's aunt and uncle, who raised her, applied for their tourist visa but the soonest appointment is in 2025. My wife and I recently found out that she's pregnant with our second kid, and I'm gone a lot for work, and she's alone half the month, she would at least like her aunt to come and help because. Are we able to get the appointment moved up and can I do anything for their application? It would be great if they can come sooner. The aunt is a teacher, the uncle is retired, they own their home. Any advice for them to get their tourist visa approved?
  8. December will be 2 years since my wife and I filed for her adjustment of status, while she has her work and travel permit, the residency card ("green card") is still pending as we are waiting to be contacted to schedule the interview. Not sure why it's taking so long, especially that we're in Florida and it happens comparatively fast here. We recently found that her mom, the husband (not my wife's father) and half-sister are on their way to cross illegally into the US. We found out this morning that they're somewhere in Mexico after crossing from Guatemala. We are NOT giving aid of any sort, nor do they have our address, we're not interested in taking care of them when and if they arrive here. My wife is not on the best of terms with her mom, the husband and half-sister, and rarely speak. They're in communication with another sister of my wife, that's how we found out. Will they affect my wife's process? What can we do about it? My wife and I aren't supportive of illegal "immigration", as going through this process hasn't been cheap, quick or easy for either of us. My wife is worried that her mom, once in the US will say something to officials like "I have a daughter that lives in the Miami area." I appreciate any good advice.
  9. My wife entered the US in September 2021, filed for AOS, EAD & AP in 12/2021. She was approved for the EAD & AP in 12/2022, still no AOS. I was wondering if my wife and I can do something for her Aunt and Uncle, who raised my wife, and a cousin that is pretty much a sibling. Her uncle is retired, the aunt is working as a teacher, and the one cousin is unemployed. It would be good if the aunt and uncle could get their tourist visas to come visit, and we'd like to bring her cousin, to help her with her future. What can be done?
