  1. They had a new timeline feature that was clearer, but they removed it a week later.
  2. wow you're lucky. I wonder if some types of cases also just move faster Got biometrics notice 3 days after, thought they would reuse, but it's an actual appointment.
  3. That's crazy, you're very lucky, congrats
  4. My service center is averaging 7 months
  5. entered in May 22 but didn't start living together until July 22 so June 2nd is within 90 days before 3 years My only worry is, the wait time is so long for the interview and we'd be doing it twice. Is a denial worse than a withdraw? Do you know if there's a guide for withdrawl?
  6. I just realized I screwed up and did 90 days before that date 🤦‍♂️ I'm assuming there's not much we can do but get denied at the interview and immediately file again?
  7. Maybe I missed something, if they are living in marital union since the resident date, why can't they file early?
  8. Well other than waiting for the biometrics notice, looks like we should keep ourselves occupied. The service center is currently processing cases from July 2024 🫠
  9. First Post! Hopefully I won't be alone here Submitted online and received receipt June 3rd. Wanted to submit June 2nd but the updated drivers for my scanner are buggy and set me back. Waiting for biometrics notice which people seem to be getting anywhere from 1-3 days. 3 year rule, 90 days early. Green card date is actually months earlier, but due to some long trips after entry, we didn't want to risk anything, so followed the advice of OldUser and waited.
  10. A green card is for the purpose of immigrating and living, establishing residency, in the US. From the story it sounds like they intend to use it as a tourist visa. Are you aware of the rules around time spent outside of the country that could also affect you after receiving a green card?
  11. For example, this person just had their interview, and they only waited 4 months to be scheduled. I'm not putting my hopes on that though.
  12. I had seen some timelines go faster, so I was hoping, but I know it all varies and I'm in a highly populated area. Was hoping to get in before years end. Well we'll see what happens.
  13. wow, 7 months till interview, that's a long time, going to be doing this soon.
  14. Thanks, that's a relief, We don't have as much as we thought we did, and most of the beneficiary stuff doesn't even have dates/details
  15. DMV is per state, they're not all related, they're not even called DMV in every state. So experience will vary
  16. We got denied a tourist visa, but had no problem with CR1/IR1. They country you're from can also make things complicated.
  17. This is why I got apostile documents when getting married, someone argued it wasn't necessary, and usually isn't, but for cases like these, it was little work when I had the opportunity, in relation to if an issue like this had arisen and I had to figure out how to get one.
  18. https://popular.info/p/exclusive-secret-policy-shift-could https://www.marketwatch.com/story/social-security-freezes-program-that-processes-numbers-and-cards-for-over-3-million-people-report-63f2d0bc# you can find some discussions on reddit around these too
  19. USCIS has paused doing this, so you'll need to go to an office in person for now.
  20. Yeah it seems more clear now, I'd have to list my address back home for 2 additional months because I never actually arrived where I would establish residency. without husband for the 2nd trip I was a little less worried about after seeing this on the USCIS website. https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-3 The applicant’s immediate family members remained in the United States; and The applicant retained full access to or continued to own or lease a home in the United States.
  21. Hi, I wanted to see if this was ok before applying. When I first entered the country, it wasn't the state where my spouse lived. They were on a work trip, but we wanted to do entry to get the ball rolling. I spent about 10 days with them in a residence hotel, then went back home for 2 months to wrap up some personal matters. I did bring belongings that would stay with my spouse as I did consider this starting to move to the US. When I entered the second time it was to the state I would be residing in. I did take another trip home, but under 6 months, my main concern is, is it an issue that I wasn't in the state where our home is for the first few months.
  22. They can fill it out, that's what the preparer section is for
