noypi321 reacted to Flowerfame in Delay AOS or submit I944 without some supporting documents?
I'm going through a similar situation. I have my university diploma and its translation ready to include as supporting documents but I don't have my transcripts and other information that would let me get a foreign certificate evaluation. But I don't think I'll wait in my case. I'll just submit my diploma and the translation. And when I can get a hold of the transcripts, I'll have the evaluation done and bring it to the interview in case they ask for it.

My stepson is adjusting status from K1. He is ready to file AOS, EAD, & AP but is lacking some supporting documents for I944 like his transcripts, etc. If he waits for them, it might take months (Philippines is in lockdown and so is California).
What do you guys think? Thanks

SSN is not required his spouse needs to kick it up the line until she gets to somebody who knows what they are doing. Would have been much easier if a SSN had been obtained after entry.

I would go to the next level of where you are currently stuck.
What worked for me and this was accidental, when I applied for mine I was told the same sort of thing, card would be mailed but was asked if I wanted to know the number and they wrote it down on a scrap of paper and gave it to me. Now I applied a week or so after entry and did not have an issue with not being in the system.

K1s aren't eligible, adjustment of status applicants are.
What is the issue adding to spouses insurance?

SSN is not necessary to get health insurance in the US. All that is needed is full name and date of birth, plus a copy of our Brazilian marriage certificate and English translation. I added my husband to my US health insurance when he was still living in Brazil with no visa, no SSN, no ITIN, nothing but name and date of birth. It can be done if you work with HR.

Cash is king!
There are always private insurance available that you can get him on today if your have the funds. You can start looking at which offers the most coverage at a reasonable price offering to hold you over. Remember, with insurance you are basically paying for peace of mind.

Call insurance companies directly. BCBS, Aetna, etc.

Take a day off and pop back and get married.

I guess the solution would be to get married as soon as possible (officially courthouse, at least) and apply for the insurance. If you want to do a bigger celebration or party, you can do it as planned afterwards. But for the sake of getting his health insurance, there's no harm in marrying earlier and applying for the insurance right away.

Delay arrival for a month so they can get married immediately on arrival.

Hi thanks so much! 🙂 Yep. I was told to get a polio vaccine before leaving for US. They said that the immigration in the US will ask for it when I arrive.
I had three vaccines only the tdap, mmr and varicella. There's no polio vaccine written in the document. I was told that whenever i get one i should also get a certificate from them which has fee but the vaccine itself is for free.
Hope this answers your question.

noypi321 reacted to Hank_ in Completed SLEC Medical Exam - Received 2 Vaccinations but 1 Left to do?
I do not have a clue, you are the first to have mentioned it. That letter is from the Philippine government not the embassy, so I do not know if they will be looking for a vaccination record at the airport.
Only reason I can think of why some may get the letter and others don't is because some got the vaccination as a children. Seriously I don't have a clue. Being some get the letter and some don't makes me wonder if they even check at the airport .. I am clueless on that. << you can report back on your experience once y'all are in the states.

noypi321 reacted to MarryMe987654 in Is there a luggage wrapping service in NAIA T2?
This reminded me of when I left for the US in July 2019. I used one cling wrap tube to wrap my two big luggage. Better safe than sorry--and it's fun to wrap it like how they do it at the airport.

Doesn't seem like a valid reason to me, but if NVC and the embassy bite on it .. all the power to them

Place of marriage affects neither domicile nor AOS.

No, no, no.
At least 2 days for medical and then a day between the second day and the interview
For example: Monday and Tuesday medical, Thursday interview
It doesn't work that way for Manila embassy.

noypi321 reacted to Hank_ in Is there a penalty for failing to attend consular outreach?
