Hi all - I am in an issue where my conditional green card expires July 27 and I start a new job, July 31. I have already applied for my removal of conditions June 9th and am crossing all my fingers and toes that the notification comes before July 31st, but have no guarantees as I am dealing with USCIS after all. I am wondering what other options do I have? Couple I can think of:
1. I have applied for an unrestricted SSN and am hoping to use that for I-9 verification as a last resort. However, I imagine when my employer uses e-verify, if USCIS has not processed my I-751 application by then I would not be employment authorized at that point?
2. I’m wondering if I should ask my employer to start me earlier. I just don’t want to ask something like “is there a possibility I can start earlier due to my conditional green card expiring July 27?”
3. I could just delay my start date which is something I would rather avoid doing!
Any insights or experiences with this would be greatly appreciated!
