  1. No, you don’t have to. You can just renew your green card
  2. Exactly, plus OP went from saying that his heart was bleeding to counting how many vehicles they’d bought together😂
  3. These last paragraphs are a contradiction by themselves. You’re a stronger believer in marriages, but you are wanting to end it because in the last two weeks she hasn’t been behaving the way you want her to? 🤨 yeah no, that’s not how a marriage works. You don’t get to dictate how the other person behaves. And why are you even thinking of a next wife, and more specifically, why are you worried about where your new wife is from? And why are you worried about her immigration status? You already know the other person.
  4. I’m the petitioner. And no, I don’t carry my green card nor do I carry the original extension letter. Just a copy. I figured if I get stopped, then my DL and the copy of the extension letter would suffice. And if they want to further prove my identity they’re more than welcome to follow me home and meet my three cute dogs😝
  5. No, the first four are 222901 which I’m thinking is the year (22), 29 the day it was received, and 01 the month. RD is 22-01-29. I’m trying the 23*** range now
  6. That's what I was just thinking. Not contradicting anyone, but I thought the first four made more sense!
  7. Yes, first four. VJ just sent me an approval estimate of Oct 2023, but I am applying for N-400 next month, so...
  8. I am going to say this with the utmost respect and hope you don't take it wrong. If you are going to DIY the process, you NEED to invest time into reading forums. This is the first time in about four years that I have been a member here that I read of someone expecting the I-797 to be the approval notice. It is well known, for us DIYers, that 751s are taking a year at its best. Second, the name of the stamp is ADIT and it stands for Alien Documentation, Identification and Telecommunication. I am saying this because you literally wrote "add-it" stamp, and no, it is not an add-on to anything. Again, if you are going to DIY, please please spend some time educating yourself. Otherwise you can make very costly mistakes.
  9. I think it depends on the reason for the deportation. You might have not been arrested, but usually a deportable offense carries on a charge of some sort.
  10. This is the excellent example of why writing a "letter of invitation" not only does not help, but it can actually hurt his chances. With this letter he is actually showing more ties to the US than to his home country. IOs are not stupid and can read behind a few lines. He has to build ties to his home country by getting a job, a lease, etc. Even then, it is still not guaranteed. Your gut is wrong. Again, no need for the letter. Let him apply on his own merit, and if asked, then he would of course have to say the truth. Completely irrelevant.
  11. 1. Yes, because the evidence you submit must be from start of by marriage. 2. No. But I’m assuming you submitted your AOS package before you got approved, and you had your old address. Did you file AR-11? 3. No, you can still use them with a short note explaining why they have the old address. And update address on all your bills/ services asap.
  12. Thank you so much! It’s a tricky question I feel, because it encompasses many options. The more I think about it, the more I consider that what I’ve received is not “weapon training”, so I’m inclined to answer “no” and then like you, hope for an understanding IO, ask about my experience, make the necessary amendments (if needed) and report back.
  13. Any ideas? @Loren Y I think you made a comment once on somebody’s thread and can’t find it. Do you have any suggestions?
  14. When I was doing my AOS I forgot to send passport pictures for the i-485 but did so for I-765 and I-131 and I didn’t get RFE and got approved without interview, so maybe you’ll be alright.
  15. It’s not so simple. The fact that she someone had income but did not file taxes doesn’t necessarily mean that they owe back taxes. It’s a little bit more nuanced than that.
  16. There are not two sides of your question. If the form asks you if you have any relatives in the US (or if it is asked at the interview), you have to be honest about it.
